Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
When the lineup is finally out, I'll clear everything. I'll be interested to see Roo's lineup too. That will pretty much confirm whether what I heard was related to Macca or another headliner.
Dude, just spill it and leave out the scources. It's a Friday night. Lets do this.
Longinus- How perfect is it, Pumpkins in f'n Gulfport dude!!! We gotta throw in and buy Tiffany a ticket she would love it
I dunno man. "early bird" weekend passes are $60. By the time they get around to selling single day tix it'll be $40+. Wiz Khalifa and One Republic are the others playing saturday and that is complete garbage. If someone else gets added saturday that's worth a fuck...maybe. Also depends on what else is going on May 11th.
So you don't even have an actual name, but you're being vague anyway?
Just answer that: do you have one or more headliner names? Or more than one name (other than Mumford) that has been explicitly ruled out?
Because if the answer to either of those questions is no, I don't see any reason why you can't relay what you heard.
I know two things:
1)Mumford is getting big money this circuit and possibly not worth the cost-benefit(my term). That was around December. Possible it changed.
2) Hangout and Roo are looking at booking a similar act but both won't get them. I don't know which one. One could assume its someone big enough to garner that type of wrangling and money. I don't know for a fact who it is, but we can all guess.

I remember you discussing the Mumford price back in December, which is one reason I was so skeptical. This last post (and correct me if I'm wrong) basically says you don't think Mumford will be there because of their price. Think, not know, as in it's your opinion. When you post vaguely and imply that you have information you can't share, it's misleading. Mumford is a top 3 headliner anywhere they play this summer, and they have top 3 draw. I'm sure they cost quite a bit. Maybe you disagree about their value. Let's have that discussion instead of vaguely saying you've heard things, and will clear it up after the lineup drops.

I feel like up until last week everyone was positive mum was a headliner? Then out of the blue with no logic (that I saw) that opinion switched and you're a moron if you think they're headlining. I don't get it- what did I miss? Why is the possibility of them gone suddenly? (In no way am I hoping for mum- just putting that on record )

Previous post was about Macca. I don't know if it's Macca being sought after. Probably is Macca though.
On Mumford, I just heard that price would keep them away. That was in Decemeber. Stuff changes between then and now. Artist selection starts shrinking etc. Like I said, things could have changed. I haven't been told otherwise, so I can't only assume that. When people mention Mumford because of some stuff a dude at the early bird sale said, that makes sense when it was a possibility in November or whenever that was.

I can imagine a legitimate lineup at Roo that included M&S playing but not in the top three.

I don't care about bonnaroo, frankly, not to be an jerkstore. I might go but IMO hangout is what is more important since they have less bands- bonnaroo you can always catch something great because they have so much undercard
And hey mobile- do you hear anything about which day specifically next week we can expect? Early or later in the week? If you can't say no worries
Mumford is the most solid rumor we have as a headliner. Now if they decided to back out on that booking because of price to seek something else, I would be really surprised yet very fuucking happy. It really can't get any worse for me than MumSons. I'd rather laugh at gotdamn Green Day fans on the beach. That's how much I hate MumSons.

Nope. I don't know that. Even if I asked, I doubt I'd be told.

If you don't mind me asking: why?
I'm no super Mumford fan. There is music is just catchy folk pop. None of there songs are special, none are terrible. Never seen them in concert, so I don't know what their fan base demo is either.
Did anyone in this thread check out Em at Roo a couple years ago?
In my experience, rappers performing live is a total crapshoot. I've seen some great acts (Outkast in 2001, Kanye in 2007, Snoop Dogg) some mediocre (Eminem circa 2002, Wu Tang 2006 reunion tour, Jay-Z 2008) and some god awful (Xzibit).
Snoop is best live big name rapper I've seen. Roo and Voodoo were amazing shows. I saw Jay Z at Roo but wasn't impressed.
I saw Eminem at Voodoo '09, lasted about 20 minutes and bailed to go check out my first Ween show. One of my all time best festival choices right there!!!!

Funky, I could maybe see Mumford billed 4th at Roo, but no lower than that. I personally think they are top 3. This has been argued to death everywhere, though. I guess we will see when more lineups start coming out.

To be honest, I don't think their music is the worst thing ever. I just think it's extremely over-rated and they should be an afternoon to sunset set at best. The whole indie-folk faux-Americana fad has just exploded in the past year in the same way dubstep exploded before that. The music has it's place, but these quackers do not deserve to get paid over 1M to play. I want to see headliners that: (1) rock the quack out (2) are legendary performers (3) have incredible production. I wouldn't mind MumSons headlining if there is something awesome going on at another stage though, but will they give us that option this year on more than just one night?

The MAIN reason I don't want green day is because with GD brings GD fans. (and I mean that in the dualistic manner it can be used in). MumSon fans are bro-tastic but GD fans are faux-punk rockers who truly believe the green day is punk and that they're super hardcore
green day is punk like i am a leprechaun- not even a little bit.
so, id take MumSons over GD, even if mum is faux-americana mainstream shiz. just steer clear of the screaming teens.
but the lineup is out in a week, what undercards schedules are coming out where all directions point to the beach?

Blink 182 headlined saturday night of Voodoo '11. Their fans weren't *that* bad. I would wager that Green Day fans are in the same ballbark of derpiness. My chemical Romance played that year too...their fans might have been the funniest that I've ever encountered. I love fuucking with people too though. Slipknot fans at Mayhem fest last year were hilarious. Like the metal versions of juggalos. IMO, DMB fans might be the worst and we're in the clear on that one. edit: of course I'm speaking in general terms here. I don't mean to offend any fans reading. I am a fan of many bands that have a high percentage of derps too.

In what way were you not impressed with Jay-Z? I'm not a huge fan of the genre but that was one of the best shows I've seen at Roo. Maybe I feel that way because my expectations were low but I thought that was a really good show.

I hate Mumford because it is insincere and completely insipid! Those guys are total posers playing that crap like they have been jumping trains and living the life or something. They're better than the mainstream autotune pop garbage people are force fed these days at least.
I'd rather just see a group of schwilly NOLA street kids on stage playing Wagon Wheel on repeat than these jokers. They need to book the shit real like the Pine Hill Haints at Hangout if they are going to flood the fest with mainstream stuff.
But it is what it is, I'm a hater, but if they are there and there's nothing else going on I'll chill out in the back and make a good time out of it. Everyone there will be really into it so the vibe would be good.
And hey, anythings better than Dave Matthews Band.
