Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
^^ Me too, but Hangout will always have some jambands. Pretty obvious we are getting TAB'd this year instead of Phish.
Add in Toubab Krewe and Mule again along with some jamtronica and NOLA funk and you've got that demographic covered.
I'm praying for Black Sabbath as a headliner. As Macca is one of the big Roo rumors I could see him playing Hangout as well. We'd only get one or the other though, as my head would explode if I got an almost-black sabbath show and an almost-beatles show.
Green Day's Euro tour has open dates from April 12th to May 24th. Question is- was rehab a potential issue for hangout? Did they tentative reach an agreement before the rehab stuff? IS there a real possibility of Green Day as Sunday's 3 hour closer.
Green Day- Mumford and Sons- Muse Deadmau5- The Avett Brothers- Jam Band- SCI? Passion Pit- Two Door Cinema Club- MOE Plus some extra jam bands (jim james from mmj) and electro dance for the acid raging kiddies
The above fest would definitely sell out fast! Plus nobody is talking- let's start throwing out some ideas and I promise not to Mumson all of you!

Ultimately the problem 2013 is the lack of great headlining talent. New albums from the couple months are slim from headlining quality acts. And HAngout does not have the appeal just to bring out exclusive gets. You can mark out MACCA, BRUCE, and that tier because they aren't playing for 40-45 thousand for less than 6-7 million- which is what Hangout is paying. Which leaves us with the scraps- Mumford, Muse, Green Day, Killers- who knows they might slip a Metallica in there, but Tool, and Black Sabbath just aren't happening.

That's why Coachella is rumored with the stones, Roo with Macca and I bet Lolla gets The Stones, Bruce, or even a C3 dream of Led Zeppelin (not happening). The talent in modern acts this year just is not there. I say be prepared to be a little dissappointed in headliners and find value in the mid and under card.

I agree on the lack of modern headliners. I think Hangout might have two "old" headliners. They probably won't be as flashy as Coachella (Stones) or Roo or Lolla, but they could be solid like Petty and Sabbath or something like that.
My point exactly is that- Hangout at this point of their infancy does not have the coin to bang out a 10 million $ + headliner. Big names would have to settle for smaller paydays, and that is not happening. But to answer someone else- Tom Petty is still a possibility.

Wtf? 10M?!!! I think you have a misunderstanding of what festivals pay artists. By a lot. I heard Eminem got 2M? (Somewhere but to be fair it was not a confirmed number) my point is, if it only costs 2M to get Eminem to come out of retirement, that's about the going rate for a tip tier headliner. 3 maybe for Macca or the Stones, but not NEARLY 10. Lets say the stones sell out a 20,000 person arena at an average ticket price of 250, that's only 5 million. Then they have to pay the arena, ticket bastard, insurance, the city (permitting) cops, etc. They probably make 3M at most for a show like that. At A festival it's no fuss, no muss. You show up and play and collect your money.
10M is insane.
Also, Hangout has something that other festivals don't for artists. It's on a beautiful beach in a comfy condo that's certainly included. There's a reason Paul Simon played it. There's a reason they were able to pull in RHCP (who were certainly pricey) and DMB (not cheap either). I bet artists take a little less to play that festival (purely speculation on my part with no foundation only a feeling) because of the perks that Hangout gives them. If I was a musical artist, I'd give a discount to play that one for sure.
The 6-7 million quote was laughable but the 10 million is delusional!! Surf is on point, 3 mil is the payday for the biggest, rarest names.
Except for fest like Coachella where they're getting paid to play two weekends. I think that's where the dude was getting confused because The Rolling Stones are probably getting paid at least 10M for doing both weekends under the condition that they don't play any other US fests.
Had a dream about Hangout two nights ago. They had replaced the swimming pools with bleachers and we were sitting on them right next to the main stage taking pics while Jon Stewart was on stage doing a comedy set. Then a couple of enormous waves splashed where the little bamboo fence is and the water rushed in and took everyone's feet out from under them. Noone got hurt, everyone was laughing about it. My buddy looked at me and said, dang, glad we got VIP. Then I woke up.
By the way, last year when I interviewed AJ Niland, I asked him if the artist additions could have something to do with comedy, and he said, "They just might." But then they only added Tony Clifton as a walk-around. Wonder if they'll really add comedy this year, and would you want it? I'm fine without it if it takes away from the music slots.

I got my numbers from a Coach goer. I thought those numbers were remarkably high. In the words of Roger Clemens "I mis-remembered!"

Not that it would effect the headliners, but does Wakarusa's phase 1 line-up tip off some of the undercard. I have seen Of monster and men and they are awesome. WSP shows up on the billing- coud be a top 10 act at hangout. Low card act special- The bright light social hour is killer- hope they make the trip to the coast.

That news can only be verified by super hetti PT bros, who's third eyes are able to predict panic tour dates/locations, until the official announcement happens in a week or two.

Whatever doucher, you'll see.
WSP Spring Tour will look something like this Athens - 4/6 Macon - 4/7 St. Louis 4/9-10 Chicago 4/11-13 Louisville 4/16 Wanee - 4/19-4/20 Columbia 4/22-23 Orange Beach 4/26-28 Jazzfest - 5/2 Nashville - 5/3-4
Alpharetta or ATL Fox could be at the beginning or end of the tour. Maybe a show after OB (Biloxi will be Fall Tour after Tuscaloosa) but the Boys could just go fishing for a few days. Memphis Beale St is a possibility after Jazzfest with Nashville for one or two nights at The Woods right after. They could easily have a late night spot on 5/3 at UNO or Mahalia Jackson etc.
WSP is a lock for the Thursday jam spot at Jazzfest, and will most likely have a Down On the Bayou IV at the Howlin' Wolf that would prob have WSP playing a mini set.

Yeah, I have a feeling the Jam acts are going to be Moe, TAB, and Yonder.
Also I think Umphrey's will do everything in their power to make it to Hangout. They love it, and have played the last two years, so if Hangout makes them an offer they'll make it work.
With Umphrey's and moe. at the same fest we could have some sit-in shenanigans.

Sorry to jump in and needing request info, but I've been in Europe without a computer since Dec. 14- any news around here? Last I heard were the top 4 of Tom Petty, etc. locked down with Primus and QOTSA as rumored 5 & 6 acts. Anything new? I'll be back in the states late Tuesday night, but the suspense is killing me as of now!
We don't know shiit. Petty, Muse, and Mumford are the only rumors still and Petty seems the most unlikely out of the bunch. I was being facetious about Primus and QOTSA a while back...just wishlist chevy stage closers for me but highly unlikely.

Gotcha. Thanks. Any reason Petty seems unlikely? And wasn't there a top tier Jam act rumored? Phish maybe? Anyway, I'm going no matter what, just curious. Thanks again for all the hard work snooping around, guys!
