VIP stage was in the grove, which was in the middle of the two main stages.
Somebody had posted a photo where there was construction going on where that stage was, and I asked someone about it and that's when I was told, that it would be a new stage. Wonder if there will be a VIP/Kids stage this year.

Heard from a reliable source that the rest of the lineup will be announced early next week. Bonnaroo and Hangout are sharing two headliners and worked a deal where each would get to exclusively announce one of the headliners in order to not hurt ticket sales. Hangout got to announce Tom Petty last week, and ticket went on sale Friday. Bonnaroo got to announce their headliners this week and tickets go on sale Saturday. Hangout will be able to announce the "addition" of Mumford and Sons early next week. For what it's worth, my source also heard the following bands will be added as well: Japandroids, The National, Beach House, Michael Franti, Drive-By-Truckers, Alabama Shakes, and the Avetts

Please let this be true. I don't care if that means i'll be seeing Mumford twice...i'd MUCH rather see them on the beach than Stevie Wonder. Not to mention The National, Alabama Shakes, Franti, and the Avetts? If this ends up not being true i'm going to be very disappointed.

The last two sentences sound reasonable, and would be a solid round of additions. I'm not sure I buy that reasoning for the delay because I don't see any reason for Bonnaroo and Hangout to "work together," so to speak, but I suppose it's plausible.

They're always 3-4 weeks apart, relatively close to each other geographically, and have similar lineups. Hangout is my "pre-game", if you will, for Roo. Last year I didn't even go because the lineups were so similar. I think it would make some business sense for them to work together. This does not surprise me at all...Roo didn't sell out last year even with a stellar lineup and I think a lot of that could have been due to Hangout.

LeeAnne Waters slipped up and said the Avett Brothers were going to be playing Hangout on the zew last week.

If your source is right I'd be pretty happy, as would my wife. We both like pretty much every single one of those bands. (I'm not in the Mumford is the roots music equivalent of the anti Christ group. I don't mind them and thoroughly enjoyed their Which stage performance at 'roo).

I hope you're right I love some Drive-By Truckers but its hard to believe that someone is going to come on inforoo and in their first ever post give everyone the information they have been waiting to hear.

Seems like the Macca deal was a big turning point between the two fests. Man I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during all the conversations between agents and SF; agents and Huka; and Huka and SF.

I hope you're right. The dates check out.
That's a good sign...I also think it would make sense that if HO was forced/agreed to hold off on the third headliner they would hold a couple big names back from the undercard just so the second release has more pop and they can steal the buzz back. Hard to find a person out there who wouldn't be really excited about at least 1 or 2 of these alleged new additions. I'm pumped to see the Shakes & Avetts again, and Japandroids & DBT for the first time.

I'm in the same boat on Franti. I've seen him at a ton of fests, and I like his show and its positive, non-stop forward momentum, but he's no longer a big get for me because he plays everywhere and he does tend to repeat himself, kind of like Wayne Coyne.
