Theyre headlining Jazz Fest- they won't be there (proximity clauses- from what I have heard)
as for Soundgarden- they are impossible 17th- Ohio (separate from ROTR) 18th- NJ 19th- ROTR
If the Avett Bros are not there I will be very surprised due to their block of open dates..not as a headliner by any means but potentially in that ES spot of Sunday
Thats the Rock on the Range fest listed twice.
Click on Columbus Crew Stadium and it's Rock on the Range. Soundgarden's website tour dates are powered by Songkick. It's an error.
Rock on the Range is 5/17, 5/18, 5/19. Soundgarden has booked a date in NJ on 5/18, if they had not, I would be 99.9999999999999999% they're website would probably list 5/17, 5/18 and 5/19 all as Columbus, OH. Rock on the Range is at Columbus Crew Stadium. They will not play Rock on the Range 5/17 and 5/19.
oops, didn't click the button missed that one.
I still don't think they're happening though. I would LOVE for them to be there- they're probably my first choice out of the "possible touring big name rock groups" category at this moment...but I just don't see it happening.
Oh well, looks like we'll know Wednesday...and I was all ready, even went to sleep early last night in hopeful preparation to miss all sleep tonight. Damn you Hangout!
TK has been promoting the Hangout since 2011. If there is going to be a band that is played on that station like Foo Fighters, RHCP...the fest wants the pub and the station wants the listners.
I agree...which makes me wonder about the possibility of Incubus or Soundgarden now. The fact that TK101 got to drop this announcement makes me think one of those two bands are headlining, unless there is someone I am missing. I can't think of anyone they play fairly regularly who would fit headlining that is also touring, but hasn't played there before. No way RHCP returns for a 2nd year in a row, and Foos are on a hiatus. Rage or System of a Down don't seem likely at all. Tool still seems unlikely to me, but I'd be all about it.

An act from Vermont, an act from Britain, a surprise revival of an early-mid 90's "rock" band who none of y'all have mentioned yet, a famous offspring of a famous Caribbean islander, and a lead singerless lead guitarless rebranding of a classic mainstay in psychedelia.
Mannnn I don't know if you can tie the songs they're playing into a clue..seems a bit conspiracy theory to me...but on the other hand, I like conspiracy theories
Incubus is on hiatus too....PJ would be a horrible book seeing as they played in that area about 5 times last summer...if they pull a Soundgarden I would be stoaked
Whatever happened to the murmuring about Janes Addiction? Eh? Better than Green Day thats for sure

righteousfont. what are you trying to say here, my friend

so TAB/Phish, Mumford, ?, ??, Furthur/Phil Lesh
One of those would be Ziggy/Damian Marley I'm assuming. And I don't know who this guy is, but he should explain himself.
Or, TAB/Phish, Macca/Mum, Incubus (because of their hiatus)/ Wallflowers?/ Foo/(dont tell me it is Blink 182)/ Coldplay/ RATM , Some version of a Marley, Nirvana (minus kurt? Novana? not exactly psychedelia really going on a limb with the guitarless leadsingerless hint and the appearance on the hurricane relief )
tell me what you know, righteous i promise i wont say a word, just whisper
i'm guessing it's more along the lines of a hootie, green day, offspring type band.
dishwalla or collective soul or something.
None of those would be very suprising, IMO. Hootie isn't a TK101 band and with their announcement today I have a feeling it is someone they would promote. Green Day is a def possibility and has been for a while, but Offspring is a definite no go since they play Gulfport the week prior.

Hootie and the Blowfish's lead singer, Darius Rucker, is an extremely successful country artist. Hate to be the bearer of bad news but HAB isn't playing any time soon, if ever.

Some of y'all need to rethink "surprise" and "reunion," because some of these guesses are neither. RATM, Green Day, Offspring, Blur, and Wallflowers have all been reunited for awhile or never broke up.

If this guy knows anything: Phish, Mumford & Sons, Rage Against the Machine, Ziggy Marley, and Furthur.

just shooting names out there man...RATM would be a pretty big surprise, its not like they play often

Good. I hope by quoting me you aren't suggesting I was even remotely considering Hootie. LOL...I was just ruling them out. I hope they keep them as far away from this fest as possible. Save that ish for Bayfest.

I'd like to hear back from this guy before we take this thread well over 100 pages tonight, because there's nothing in his short post history to suggest he knows anything.

I mentioned Rage...he/she said someone we hadn't mentioned yet. I would love for it to be Rage, but that just doesn't seem very likely to me.
