1. Mumford over KoL, Muse over both 2. I think the idea of HO out bidding Roo or fighting Roo for Macca is insane. Booking agencies understand the pecking order. Coach, Lolla, Roo get first dibs. Then comes everyone else. HO only gets Macca if he is playing Roo and there is no clause against hangout, and if HO can afford it. But mobile maybe right about Mumford, if their price is sky high. Macca, Mum, and KoL could be up to 7-8 mil for the three. That seems rich for a 45000 person fest. What if the headliners are softer because of the price tag for Macca? Or am I just a little buzzed right now?

What you are saying makes a lot of sense, but I've heard differently.

If Coachella gets first dibs on headliners- why are they a year late on the whole "get RHCP to headline your fest" game- and why isn't their lineup consistently better by a great degree?

Dibs on Legacy acts, not RHCP. It is common knowledge coach whiffed on the stones, but that is because the stones won't be ready to come back to america until after april. Festie whores like the Peppers don't count; I should have been more clear. Coach tried to go big but missed. But Legacy acts are something the big boys get. If HO gets Macca, then they become one of the top 5 fests in america. HO could become an A-list fest this year.
BTW if the stones come back to America for a fest it is for Lolla in August.

^^ how could I forget
Also- how is Macca onlyplaying hangout if there are not any clauses in 'Roos that prevent him from playing? Why COULDNT he possibly play both? I just don't think you can state that as fact- that the only way hes playing hangout is if the powers at 'Roo "will allow it"
I think KOL would be kind of a soft headliner. They are pretty irrelevant these days and price has (probably) dropped a decent amount since their little incident.
Mumfords price probably is absurd right now, that is probably thats correct
I am saying that Macca plays both. But if he only plays one it will be Roo not HO. I just can't see Macca and his decision makers passing Roo for HO. But I gues anything is possible for the right money.

One big summer of festivals does not classify RHCP as a "festy whore" Franti is a festy whore. RHCP was doing a huge tour...is Jack White a festy whore too for being at so many?
and- wheres your proof for stones at lolla, or is that opinion also?
I am not trying to be a dick here, but I agree, you are posting like you've been in the business for years when really you're like the rest of us..posting BS opinion based on a tidbit of info and a bunch of hope

opinion is what these boards are made of. I never stated fact in my posts. But I have followed over a dozen festivals in this manner and I feel that I can make some judgements based on history and who's touring.

It's either
Again. Your logic makes sense but him playing the Hangout isn't improbable, just unlikely.

I am not sure your message board history qualifies you to anything, but okay you keep doing your thing and I'll be the first one to give you some props once I see some logical basis behind a post
I believe HO came right out and told us Macca is the headliner.
How so?
because the only logical conclusions to draw from yesterdays video was that he is coming or they are leading us to believe he is when he is not. The downside risk is way too high for the second option IMO

I agree with a few things you said, being a fan of M&S, I don't like being called a semi-delusional asshat. Is there any chance you could focus on being less of a douchebag in your next few posts?

The Bob Hudson angle is a good try but that is how the Rich Aucoin song starts. He's a HO staple. I wouldn't read too much into it. It was interesting reading about Bob Hudson though. That's a cool clip and I didn't even notice it before. Rich Aucoin's early morning show in 2011 was a fun experience. Sparsely attended and the air conditioner felt like heaven. I had a blast getting involved. I missed my 1st Hangout last year. I always wondered about his 2012 show.

His 2012 set was great. One of those times when you can feel an unfamiliar crowd warm to someone new. I'm honestly surprised he hasn't broken out like Dan Deacon on the strength of his live show.
