Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
Bonnaroo got both McCartney and Petty. I don't know why you would think they'd be mutually exclusive.
Petty hasn't played Bonnaroo in 7 years - I think a repeat is alright at this point.
Seven years ago, TPATH were on their 30th anniversary tour with Stevie Nicks, Tom had a new album coming that July, and Peter Bogdonavich was filming shows. This time, the most recent album will be three years old. Full Moon Fever is one year away from a big anniversary. Even I'm kind of surprised Bonnaroo wants Tom Petty back this year.
I think people need to listen to some old KOL and give them a chance. Youth and Young Manhood, Aha Shake Heartbreak and Because of the Times are solid albums. I understand that they went on a slide of late but they are good in concert. I think so far Tom Petty > RHCP, KOL>DMB and I think whomever the third slot is will be better than Jack White. Plus an undercard with many talented bands makes this a good time in my opinion.
What you "see" or "don't see" doesn't really matter. This is what is happening.
nah... you dont know weenie.
about shiz.
You're really terrible at this. I'm sorry you don't know anything, but the headliners for Bonnaroo have been more or less completely confirmed. At this point the only question is whether Bjork is a headliner or is actually #4 or #5 on the poster. The rest is all done. Thanks for playing though.

Popular theory is twofold: first, they booked Macca, so they have less of a budget for the other headliners, and Petty won't be too expensive. Second, the rumor is they're trying to move away from the "only jambands headline Sunday night" thing, and the feeling is that Petty would be a great transition booking in that slot.

So you were on the bonnaroo scheduling conference call from your moms basement?

Stop taking yourself so seriously.
You do realize that there are actually people who post on this board (and I'm not necessarily referring to myself) who actually do know some people, and actually can confirm certain things? Maybe wander away from this abortion of a thread and check out the rest of the place, you might learn something.
It's okay. When the lineup drops I'll come back just to remind you how terrible you are.

I always feel like I'm in the movie idiocracy when I'm in this thread. Right now you are talking like a tard, jugz. Dont worry scrote. There are plenty of 'tards out there living really kick-ass lives. My first wife was 'tarded. she's a pilot now.

I can only hope to be so lucky that I get to hear from you when the lineup drops!
And I hope you get a nice raging hard on from proving someone wrong on the Internet.

Amen, bro. All you can do is laugh nerds like this off and get your pump on.

Alright so who remembers how many artists HMF added after the initial announcement last year and when did they make the additions? How many artists do you guys think will be added to this lineup besides this mystery headliner?

I counted 50 bands last year and 51 already this year. It was a quick count so if I'm off by a few save your breath, I apologize. Doesn't sound like there will be many more, if any, besides the headliner.
It doesn't look like there will be more than a handful of additions based on the number of acts in the initial lineup. Just my .02.
It's hard to know for sure, because I just did a quick count and there was quite a bit of variance in number of acts between 2011 and 2012. 2012 had 51, and 2011 had 64. We're right around 50 right now. I'd guess just the added headliner and some comedians.

So who's the third chevy stage closer? TAB, Shins, and Black Crowes? Seems like Black Crowes would be better suited to play the main stage before the headliner to me. We could get one more big name unless they let Assnectar close chevy which I don't see happening if they didn't let Skrilley Bear do that last year. Here's hoping for one more big name besides the mystery headliner.

My bands I like:
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers | Kings Of Leon Bassnectar | Kendrick Lamar | The Black Crowes | Slightly Stoopid The Roots | Steve Aoki | Passion Pit | Gov't Mule | Jim James | Public Enemy moe. | Galactic | Lissie | Ryan Bingham | The Sheepdogs | Moon Taxi
I would go if it doesn't sell out until the schedule is released. Did it sell out quickly last years?

Really bummed about the lineup.
The headliners are ok... And the second tier bands aren't bad either, it's the smaller bands I'm bummed about. Revivalists, moon taxi, anders, and galactic all play around here all the time.
The "techno" lineup is lackluster compared to oakenfold and kaskade. I really enjoyed that tent last year.
I've been checking out a lot of these bands I haven't really heard of and so far I'm not overly impressed.
Kings of Leon will be fun, I think. I'm not really a fan, but I like that around comes sundown album. And I think hearing some of those songs at sunset will be great.
I'll have a blast regardless, I'm just disappoints with a lot of the smaller acts.

Two weeks. I'm willing to bet even quicker this year.
