Sunday, bloody Sunday:/ Bon Iver -Ben Folds 5 Shins-Young The Giant-fun.-The Civil Wars No idea what I'm going to do!
THIS! This is the only conflict I think truly blows (the other ones I have aren't as bad, and it's not like conflicts are unexpected). That's not counting Kenny Rogers either (who I was thinking of catching for at least a bit, maybe for The Gambler).
What really gets me about this is my luck with Young the Giant. See, I always have really bad luck with seeing them, as I have now missed out on three chances to see them, two of which were events I had tickets to! First time was opening for Incubus, in which I missed them because I was a part of contest where I ended up winning a copy of their new album on vinyl in addition to upgraded tickets.
Then they were at this big concert the local alternative station throws on every year (which fun., The Joy Formidable, Grouplove, and Foster the People all also happened to be at). I actually won tickets to this, and was so psyched to go... until I found out I had one of my finals at 3 in the afternoon the same day, so I had to miss ALL of those bands (other than FtP). Then they came here last March, and was down to go... until Metal Alliance rolled through and had like six bands I had never seen.
So you see, I'm determined to see Young the Giant on principle alone. However, The Shins pretty much never come to Florida, so I don't know if I'd get another chance (and I don't like them enough to pay to see them). I like YtG more, but I feel like there will be another chance to see them since I'm sure they aren't going away anytime soon (although knowing my luck, something will get in the way of my next chance to see them). And none of this is counting Bon Iver as well (who I just want to see part of).
So yeah I hate this conflict. I pretty much can't see the entirety of any of the bands without missing some pretty much entirely.
I have been invited to crash in a RV with AC. My biggest conflicts are Charles Bradley(Sat.) and Gary Clark Jr. (Sun.) playing at 1pm, that conflicts with my sleep and Dumpstaphank needs longer than an hour long set.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Alabama Shakes Vs. Big Gigantic Vs. MiMOSA: I understand that the Shakes and one of the other two need to conflict but I really don't see why Big Gigantic and MiMOSA need to be at the same time. I hope Big Gigantic plays late.
Black Star vs. Major Lazer: This one is almost impossible for me to figure out. The tents will be too crowded to move in between the sets. I have no clue what to do during this one.
Beach Boys vs. War on Drugs Vs. City and Colour: A band who I will never get to see again, a band who has the best current album or a singer that is my favorite to listen too right now. Terrible
Shins vs. Young the Giant vs. Fun.: I don't really have a problem seeing Young the Giant here

Am I going to have to sit through Major Lazer to get a good spot for UM? I know I will have to leave The Word early but would like to catch at least most of that show.

This is what I would suggest:
1) Alabama Shakes - They will be a great way to kick off the festival on Thursday....and they KILL IT live!
2)NO BRAINER - BLACKSTAR! You will kick yourself for years to come if you go see Major Lazer over the Blackstar show.
3) Beach Boys - They are a classic band that wont be doing this for too much linger, you would have to pay serious coin to see them at a normal venue in your home town and its going to be a fantastic afternoon atmosphere to see these guys. The war on drugs will continue to tour and tickets will be relatively cheap for these guys. As for City and Colour - DONT DO IT MAN!!!!

Flying Lotus vs. Umphrey's was a worst case scenario for me. I could quack a duck I'm so pissed. SBTRKT and Puscifer sucks, too. And they're not LN, which is a crime against humanity. I wish Van Halen never existed

Go to the beginning of FlyLo and the end of Umph. I think it's safe to assume Umph will play till sunrise so you'll have plenty of time to see both.

I wouldn't say it's safe to assume that at all. Although I sure hope so.

1. SBTRKT vs Puscifer 2. Little Dragon vs Fitz and Tantrums 3. War on NO NO WORD!!! vs Amtlers 4. Shins vs Young the Giant vs Civil Wars 5. Moon Taxi vs White Denim 6. Tune Yards vs Ben Howard 7. St. Vincent and Radiohead positioning vs Foster the people 8. Ben Folds Five vs Joy Formidable v s Yuna (seeing Ben Folds Five makes this less painful)
After watching some Major Lazer live videos I can now say ML vs. Blackstar. Their show looks like it's going to be a massive party. But man it's Blackstar...
1. St Vincent vs. Rod Y Gab + Radiohead positioning. Seeing St. Vincent close a tent and having seen Radiohead already on Monday will help this choice. Plus FtP seem to be a big enough draw that I won't get terrible spots for Radiohead. 2. Puscifer vs. SBTRKT vs. Santigold. Great job Roo, let's take 3 quality late night acts and put them at 5:30 in the afternoon. I'll see SBTRKT unless the tent is swarmed, then I'll scope out the other two. 3. The Antlers vs. The Beach Boys vs. The War On Dr.ugs. I really wanted to see all of these artists, but Antlers are the only must see. 4. Avett vs. Fitz vs. Little Dragon. Thanks GOD I've seen Avett otherwise this would be much worse, I'll probably see Little Dragon and then move to Fitz.
(1) Damon Albarn (2) Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds (3) King Khan & His Shrines (4) Ty Segall (5) Ms Lauryn Hill (6) Darkside (7) Kanye (8) Janelle Monae (9) Goat (10) Meshuggah.

As of right now my biggest conflict is the beach boys vs city and colour. I really want to see City and Colour but the Beach Boys are obviously a rare act that probably shouldn't be missed. My only fear is that they will suck and city and colour will be awesome

I thought I had no real conflicts this year, but I of course was only looking at music. There are a couple things going on in the Cinema Tent that actually make me reconsider some of the musical acts I plan to see. There's a Reggie Watts thing with a silent movie going on Saturday night but it conflicts with Alice Cooper. It seems like this would be less of a pain to get into than the Comedy tent to see Reggie. There's also an Alice Cooper thing in the Cinema tent earlier that night that conflicts with Danzig/Misfits. However I guess neither of these conflicts are too "brutal." I'll always side with music over any type of screening, even a screening that involves a live Reggie Watts musical score.
