Yeah, Coachella and Beale St. are hardly comparable when it comes to acts they book, let alone where they may place the same bands on their respective lineups.
Morning Ron. I just got back from Colorado and it was lovely.
Yea I have lived all over the world and I just kept coming back home. Might be here for good, not sure. Yep, Coachella is not far and the 2nd fest of my 64 tour cr****
Also, I think the fact that The National is the only Bonnaroo artist I can think of with a new album coming out says a lot about the Bonnaroo v. Coachella dynamic.

That's just in the top third of the lineup and doesn't even include artists who have very recent albums.
You realize only one of these albums is coming out before Roo, and the rest are pure speculation. That was really my point, the Coachella lineup is filthy with artists about to put out buzzworthy albums, Bonnaroo has a bunch of guys who might be recording something, maybe.

I don't really mind that, personally. The bands I want to see playing songs from albums I already have and love is good enough for me. I don't care much if they are really buzzworthy at the time. It won't change my experience at their set.

Funny how your criteria changed from "has an album coming out" to "has an album coming out after the festival," and I'd say sources like Billboard, The Guardian, and Pretty Lights' own site are a little more substantive than "pure speculation." You're grasping at straws to make a false argument just because you were unaware of so many in-the-works projects for Roo artists.

That's perfectly fine, but I'm the opposite. Everyone knows that Coachella has the a reputation for getting the new and noteworthy while Bonnaroo gets the tried and true. Godzilla's link-a-thon doesn't refute that in the slightest.

Do any artists have new albums, tracks, or mixtapes of note? The small print artists in particular. I did a fair amount of research when the lineup first came out, but I don't want to miss anything new.
I've heard HTDA, Phoenix, Foals, Nick Cave and Johnny Marr. Pretty sure Tegan and Sara have a new one I don't care about. Finally listening to the new James Blake now. What else?
So in that thread you want albums that must be heard between now and June, but for the purposes of this conversation you discount any albums that will be released before Bonnaroo...???

I'm discounting albums that may not have been written or recorded yet. Not sure why this is controversial.

Here was my original post on the subject.
Selective copying much? What happened to the "artists have NEW albums/tracks/mixtapes that need to be heard between now and June?"

So The National has an album that is coming out, and you discount it because it will be released before June, but you're asking for albums that can be heard before June?

Yea I am sort of like that. People can harp all the time how they could care less who the headliners are or whatever. They play a big part on who I am going to schedule but I do try and hit the smaller shows during the day and LN of hyped or less known bands. I see xxxxxx is there, I have seen them xxx times, and the reason is because I like them and yes I will see them again to hear the old stuff and some new stuff. I will be on the grass listening to Paul even though I have seen him 4 or 5 times. Unknown or less hyped bands: I went to a show once at a small college outside of Nashville. I think I won tickets to the show. Off we go to see some unknown band with little hype. There might have been 200 people in the school auditorium. Me, 200 other stoned peeps, and the Police. Not LEO, but THE Police. One of the best spontaneous shows I remember of some "unknown" band. cr****
