In other news, I need new friends. Haha. They need like one of those adventure group sites, but solely for people to go to concerts. Hate when none of my friends want to go. :-(
Without giving you too much of my life story, I was extremely sheltered. Conservative religious parents, homeschooling, that whole thing. I really wasn't allowed to listen to "secular" music as they called it until my teens, and even then it was only the mild pop stuff...BSB, N Sync, etc that was out at the time. I wouldn't say I really got into music until I started playing guitar at 15 and got into classic rock, and then in college broadened my horizons with other genres.
In short, I haven't really listened to anything of substance pre-2002.
Ah, well then it makes sense that Blur is a blind spot for you. Not old enough to be "classic," and they called it quits right when you started getting into music.
What's funny though is my dad took me to tons of St. Louis Blues games when I was a kid, and when I hear Song 2 it takes me back there. They played that song over and over and over at the hockey games. That was really my only exposure to "real" music, going to those games. And it was my dad's least favorite part of going to them...haha
Whoever picked the music for those games had an unhealthy obsession with Van Halen...

We compare Coachella and Bonnaroo way too much. They both have different identities, different audiences. I'm partial to Roo but it's safe to say they're both the dopeness. I'm not complaining, we just try to draw commonalities between the two and there's a lot of differences in play.
44 of them here and that's only like a third of them, right? (assuming the rumored are actually there):
Rumors season has started, and since no one has decided to start the annual thread, I thought I would give this one a go. I will do my very best to stay on top of this, but let the magic begin!
NOTE: If you think you have a rumor or confirmation to post, but you are not sure if someone already has, please use the "advanced search" on the search thread tab at the top of each page of the thread. You will save the rest of us a lot of redundancy. Thank you.
Think it's hilarious that these guys are writing about the video as if it means something and it's not a simple marketing tactic to further delay the lineup release. Idiots!
"The video, titled "Bloom," could be a reference to Radiohead's song "Bloom" -- but does that mean Coachella has decided to feature the band as a headliner two years in a row?"
"The significance of the word "bloom." Sure, things are physically blossoming from the ground, but the word "bloom" has a bit of musical significance. Could that mean that Beach House is playing, since their most recent album is called Bloom? They seem like a logical prospect for the festival, anyway. What about Radiohead? The Black Keys played two years in a row, so Radiohead could be back for a King of Limbs-focused set. It's a stretch, but what if Paul McCartney will front Nirvana to sing "In Bloom?" Coldplay, Foals and Deadmau5 also have songs with "bloom" in the title."
mjb, when did you start following music? We're the same age, and Blur was definitely still relevant when we were in our early teens. Their last album came out in 2003, and they were still a big enough band that I remember reading reviews of it everywhere.

Wow, this is surprisingly close to my story, except without the conservative parents/homeschooling, and replace guitar with drums. I was around 14 or 15 when I got really into music... except that was only back in like 2007, and I've only been into festival stuff like this since 2011. I guess you could say I'm pretty far behind too.
I DO own Doolittle though, so maybe it's not so bad.
I'd LOVE to see Blur headline Coachella. "The Great Escape" is my fav album from the 90s. "Country House" and "Charmless Man' were and still are 2 of my favorite songs ever. Blur kind of got a raw deal here in the US, Oasis broke big right before them and stole their thunder with the new brit-pop in the 90s (then Oasis turned everyone off here by being a bunch of douchey tools).
Is there any chance we could see Blur -> McCartney at Roo? That would be a british invasion I could get behind. I don't know if they'd go from headlining Coachella to pre-HL Roo, but bands (The Strokes) have done it before so who knows?

So since when does the KROQ website mention "Coachella lineup announcement coming soon"? Has it been there since today or was it there before already? Sorry if this was mentioned already (probably has.)

Yes! Someone make this, please
Right?! I live in tech capital and I dont' know of any site that does something like that. I think I will have to take itrainmonkeys's suggestion and just go alone more often. Make new friends.
Of course, the concerts are always in the San Francisco/Oakland areas while I'm in San Jose. Anyone from the bay area knows traffic SUCKS trying to get there and of course South Bay has no decent public transportation.
I'm thinking seriously about going for the very first year, yeah.
I was way more about it when I thought a certain robot duo would be playing, but if The Knife plays along with Blur headlining and the Stone Roses subbing that should be enough to get me there.
ALSO I'M DRUNK RIGHT NOW AND READY FOR THIS F*CKING LINEUP TO COME OUT TONIGHT!!!

If it wasn't for inforoo I'd be going to Yo La Tengo alone next month. Now I'll be there with Tom, laughing about how sweet it is they included Ned in the TIN contest so his feelings wouldn't be hurt.
