It's weird - when plotting out my travel for this thing I was in Bonnaroo mode, thinking I needed to get there early as hell on Thursday in order to wait in traffic, get inside, get my camp set up, and start watching shows. Then I realized there are no shows on Thursday, and there are way less campers than Bonnaroo (so the wait to get in won't be as long...right?) so I don't have to get there at any particular hour. Makes things a lot easier.
yes you can get food, there are a few sites out in the campgrounds kind of like bonnaroo has. there are parties and stuff going on at the campsites, but nothing official.
My top 10 for each day. I purposefully did not include Roo/Coach crossovers (except Tame Impala). Youth Lagoon would definitely be in my Friday top 10 if I hadn't bought a ticket to his Nashville show today.
Friday 1. How to Destroy Angels 2. Yeah Yeah Yeahs 3. TNGHT 4. Blur 5. Jamie xx 6. Tegan and Sara 7. Stars 8. Modest Mouse 9. The Shouting Matches 10. The Stone Roses
Saturday 1. Sigur Ros 2. Hot Chip 3. The Postal Service 4. Violent Femmes 5. Franz Ferdinand 6. Richie Hawtin 7. New Order 8. Simian Mobile Disco 9. Baauer 10. The 2 Bears
Sunday 1. Tame Impala 2. La Roux 3. Eric Prydz 4. Jessie Ware 5. Tanlines 6. Disclosure 7. Dead Can Dance 8. Vampire Weekend 9. Grimes 10. Rodriguez
April 12-14th - Indio, CA - Coachella Weekend 1
May 3-5th - Memphis, TN - Beale St. Music Festival
June 13-16th - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo
July 12-14th - Louisville, KY - Forecastle Festival
August 2-4th - Chicago, IL - Lollapalooza
September 27-29th - Atlanta, GA - TomorrowWorld
October 25-27th - Asheville, NC - Mountain Oasis
There is also a silent disco in the campgrounds that i thought i read will be open on thur night.
Yep, it does. I wonder if this is less crowded than Roo's because it's in the campgrounds and not in the venue area. Do a lot of non-campers venture into the campgrounds at Coachella?

every coachella attendee walks through the campground to exit the festival.

Phi, didn't you see Moby at Moog? How was he? I'm interested in checking his set out, but not at the expense of Hot Chip.
Clashfinder is pretty cool. If the mock that the Coach boards are group-thinking on was the real thing, it'd be pretty perfect for my tastes. Particularly excellent would be doing Grizzly Bear > Simian Mobile Disco > Yeasayer/Spiritualized > the Postal Service > Hot Chip > Sigur Ros. A few things I'd be bummed to miss (Phoenix, Booka Shade), but that's a damn near perfect day of music.

I found it to be less crowded, to me it seemed like nothing was ever "going on" at the campsites. It's my assumption that most people have shuttle passes and the real parties are the respective hotels.
On a side note, there WAS an early afternoon pinball tournament and freeplay Pinball the rest of the day! That was fun last year.

His moogfest 2011 set was surprisingly great. Pretty much everyone who went and saw it was impressed. The only thing I would caution you on is that the moogfest set was with a band, and the coachella set is a dj set. It may be a whole different experience live.

That's not true. There are other parking lots completely separate from the camp grounds. I only passed by the Silent Disco once last year and that was well out of my way even.
