The amount of people on Facebook and Twitter who claim they are selling their tickets because there's no Skrillex, Deadmau5, etc. only proves to me that GV knew what they were doing.
Those people better go wikipedia Dog Blood before they sell their tix. They can easily become Skrillified real quick. Just saying.

Also, the tickets left for purchase are either GA + Shuttle passes or GA + Camping. Estimates are that there's MAYBE 24K tickets left total. They sold between 130K-140K in the presale. That's just insane.
That's insane. The aftermarket is going to be crazy this year. Great news for stubhub.
Honestly, I feel a little bad for the bros. Coachella totally pulled the rug out from under them as far as mainstream EDM is concerned. It's a little weird to me to sell 80% of your tickets, then completely change one element of your lineup.

Hi gang, how are you this year? Well the lineup for Coachella didn't blow me away but for me Coachella is like The Roo. I love big name killer headliners, to the end, it really doesn't matter (LP). See you at Coachellla, and the Roo, and Waka of course......cr****

I definitely think that Goldenvoice has a Fall - EDM - Brochella in the works.
I'm surprised they didn't also book Skrillex and Boys Noize for solo sets as well to keep the bros at bay. Interested to see how fast this thing sells out.

To be fair, I feel like Dog Blood (agreed on the awful name) is WAY better than the sum of its parts.
And yeah, I feel like a ton of brohams who sell their tickets due to the lack of hella sick bass drops and fistipumps are going to be way bummed when they realize that DB is actually Skrillex and Boyz Noize.
Radiohead, prince, muse, chili peppers, etc...and they are lucky if they get 1 mill, but they normally only get 500 k
then you have third tier : snoop, dre, J z...they get 100 k
then you have 4th tier : black keys, munford byoncee, Prince etcc: they get 50k

And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.

I was more impressed that A) A Linkin Park lyrics was referenced on this board B) He specifically stated it was a Linkin Park reference and C) He abbreviated them as LP.
Yes, the headliners are pretty low key. And RHCP are the absolute worst - an uninspired booking. But... the undercard is really strong. Like one of the strongest I have seen. And I don't see a ton of these acts playing the festival circuit. It may be missing a few acts I would have liked, but I am seeing 30+ names without doing any research. It is funny just how much big name headliners define whether a festival is good or not in so many people's eyes. I get it to some extent, because my initial reaction was one of disappointment. But wow, after letting it sink in, I am surprised with the continued disenchantment. If they would have booked someone on the level of McCartney, then I am sure people would be saying how amazing it is. I would rather have a lot to see throughout the day rather than waiting for one act at the end of the day with the biggest crowd. This was what 2012 Coachella was last year for me. Two awesome headliners, about 15 acts I was excited about, and then a bunch of stuff I didn't want to see.
And Phoenix will bring it. I was 3 rows of people from the stage during Phoenix in 2010, and let me tell you, that place was going nuts. Craziest crowd I have been in at the festival, and I was there for Rage's reunion in 2007. I also caught them at the Hollywood Bowl later in the year, and it was a madhouse there, too. People started talking about them as headliners on the Coachella board right after their Coachella performance, and I can see why. I am not surprised to see it come to fruition. It also follows a trend of Coachella defining who is a top line contemporary act before the masses accept it: Killers in 2009, Arcade Fire in 2011, Black Keys last year. These were all questioned at the time. Now there is no question with the mainstream success they have all experienced. Phoenix will be no different.

They've already replaced the lineup on the front flash page with the countdown clock, and even when you continue to the main page proper it's buried down on the same line as shuttles and carpools.

and it was incorrect! How fantastic is it that someone on the boards did all of that and still got the words wrong?

Really surprised that Baauer and TNGHT (best Sahara moment of the weekend?) are the only trap artists. I was expecting RL Grime (especially), Salva, Flostradomus, Munchi, etc...
Well I guess Major Lazer and Dillon Francis somewhat represent that genre.
