Never underestimate momentum when it comes to the NFL playoffs. SF-NE in the SB. It should be a good one but I see the Niners defense being much more likely to slow down the Pats than the Pats being able to stop SF. I think Billy P will be very happy when the dust settles.

I wouldn't guarantee anything at this point, but I really think Atlanta struggles against San Francisco. They couldn't defend Seattle worth a lick; if not for boneheaded playcalling and a miscue, Seattle could/should have had anywhere from at least 3 to as many as 14 points more than they did based on the two red zone trips in the first half. Atlanta escaped with that 2 point win, and were lucky to do so. San Francisco runs a stylistically similar offense to Seattle, and I expect that Atlanta will have the same problems preventing Vernon Davis as they did with Zach Miller. Similarly, Kaepernick will be able to evade pressure with his legs as Wilson did, which bit the Falcons a number of times.
The main difference is that San Francisco has a hell of a pass rush. Seattle's main failure yesterday was their complete inability to get pressure on Matt Ryan, something I think San Francisco will be able to do. I think SF wins by a touchdown.
We'll see. This is the same team that was crushed 42-13 by Seattle just weeks ago.
Seattle was tired. I think that shows in how they played the first half. Once they woke up, got a little momentum and played to their level of ball, they came back, which to me shows ATL is not as good as Falcon fans might think they are. Yes, somehow they let ATL go 40 yards in 25secs and kick a field goal, but as Juggs said, for that final drive, Seahawks changed their coverage, from what they had been doing all game. Put that game in Seattle, like Flaz said, or neutral field where Seahawks have not been traveling across the country the past week while ATL rested and the outcome would be different. So yeah, ATL will be crushed by San Fran.
Edit:or what Juggs said above me. I type slow.
As for the Ravens, I am sticking with that Ray Lewis momentum, even after this idiot Ayanbadejo for the Raven's tweets about the Pats. Dude, what are you doing? Do not give them any board material! Dumb ass.
Both will be good games and I am glad I have the day off.
Pats don't need bulletin board material for games like this.
I think the Falcons are going to have their hands full with San Fran. But, my preseason Super Bowl pick was Ravens vs. Falcons, so no reason to change that yet.

The most ridiculous thing is that the media marrative right now is how the Falcons got the monkey off their back and how clutch Matty Ice was, when the reality is that he played a below-average game and pretty much single-handedly let the Seahawks back into it with that ridiculous interception.

Yeah, welcome to today's sports media. Heaven or hell, great or awful, there is no in between you're either the best or the worst.
He gets some credit in my mind for shaking it off and making a couple nice throws to put them in position to win the game, but at the same time he was a minute away from another playoff collapse.
They should feel good about the win, because, at the end of the day, they beat a very good team in the playoffs, but they should also be worried at how quickly things came unhinged.
That pick was huge and an awful decision but he shouldn't take all the blame. Bosher gave seahawks great position with 2 awful punts which was equally if not more helpful to seattle. The difference is Matt Ryan came through with another miracle drive and Bosher gave seattle another shot with a botched squib.

That was not a squib kick. He might have thought that's what he was doing, but he did an onsides kick. Squib kicks go about eye-level past the first line of the kick return team, not hitting them in the shins.

Yes. And that's why we were rooting for ATL -- that and who wants to see a whole city commit suicide after another heartbreaking playoff loss.
I was close to being suicidal. After that shizpunt, I knew Wilson was about to march down the field again since he had been shizting on the defense the whole second half. Luckily, there was enough time for Matt Ryan to Matt Ryan. People can say whatever they want about the 0-3 playoff record but Matt Ryan is insane under pressure (22 game winning drives). He didn't have a great game but he performed when he needed to the most.
Pretty pathetic that my greatest feeling as an Atlanta fan (was too young to really appreciate 95 WS or upsetting the Vikings in 98) came from that FG. Went from confident that the game was over > enraged > being on the verge of tears/suicidal > flipping my shiz and destroying my apartment.
I'm confident Mike Nolan will come up with something to slow Kaepernick down. Atlanta has faced versatile QBs throughout the year (Wilson, Cam x2, RGIII). It won't be a blowout.
Seattle has a SB coming. They are going to be great for years to come with all the draft picks/signings they have hit on.
Honestly, even though I know that Atlanta is our real rival, I tend to dislike Carolina even more. I never had much of a problem with the Falcons until they actually won so many games this year while we didn't have our coaches (out of jealousy) and when we got our bus egged (which I know doesn't represent all Falcons fans as a whole). At least Atlanta doesn't have Steve Smith or Cam Newton playing for them. All Saints fans hate Steve Smith, and we tend to view Cam worse by the game. Its tough to respect someone who does his Superman move when he is losing by double digits. Smith just likes to instigate

So Kelly one upped Kiffin in the weeniehole department. He not only gave them the whole "I'm staying at Oregon" speech. He leaves them two and a half weeks before signing day. What a jerkoff.

People are up in arms that the Browns didn't get him. I'm not on that train, I was against him from minute one. His actions the last two years are proof enough to his character, and god only know how shady the Oregon program is, definitely guessing it's worse than trading memorabilia for tats. The one joy out of this is that it's turning people off against Joe Banner in waves.

I think it kinda just came out of the blue. The Bucs were in serious talks with Chip Kelly, and when he balked, the Bucs scooped up Schiano. He was in NYC on recruiting business the day he got the call.
Haha am not, but I did learn a lot about the business of football by reading/analyzing his player contracts.
Sounds like the Jets are hiring Idzik from Seattle to be the GM. I wanted Omar Khan from Pitt, but Idzik seems like another bright football mind and he's coming from a good front office. If he's the hire, I'm okay with it.
I know college coaches still get paid if they are fired and not rehired somewhere else. It should work the other way around also. If a coach is hired somehwere else, while still under contract, either he, or the new employer, should pick up the tab, or at least a fraction of it.
