Does anyone know if Phish is planning a Fall tour? I couldn't get the time off work to go to the midwest shows and I'd really like to catch them again before the year is up.
Contributed to my local PBS Station last night, thus securing 2 tickets for next Saturday at SPAC. Can't say I'm a diehard, but the three shows I've seen at Roo have convinced me to seize any opportunity to watch them kill it live. Pumped to see my 4th Phish show (pretty crazy that I've seen them that much as a casual fan) and also to check out SPAC's new improvements!
Seriously considering grabbing lawn for Lakewood after that Roo set. Definitely did not think that sentence would ever come from my mouth and/or fingers.

Debating on going to this. After thinking about it some more, Phish was my favorite set at Roo this year, which is saying a LOT, especially from someone who had never seen them before or knew many of their songs. I even bought the three-disc set from the Roo show off their website. So I may be able to justify the trip here. How much longer til it sells out do you all think?
Btw I mean the Atlanta show, which is a 6 1/2 hour drive for me.
What'dya think of that Deer Creek show, Jess? It was a strange one. Or maybe that was me. Lawn was jumpin. Cool covers of Bowie, Velvet Underground and Beatles. Best Birds of a Feather ever.

I thought it was actually a damn good show. The first set was really good I actually had been chasing mound for years, and been chasing a BBFCFM since the first one I saw in the mid 90's. I really wish they would shelve Possum for awhile though. The Crowd Control>Lets Go out to Dinner and see a movie was also amazing.
I thought the second set through the encore was all straight fire especially DWD>Sand>Twist. The Gin had the weird aborted jam in it though that I thought could have gotten more interesting if it had not been aborted. I also really enjoyed the Run Like a Antelope with the Marco Polo game for Marco Esquandolas. Also they almost Character Zeroed us for the encore so I was glad they did the Cavern>Sanity>First Tube.
Yeah, there were a few abandoned jams/unfinished endings, but they were on fire. Lots of big moment freakouts. Hadn't seen a Fluffhead or BBFCFM in like 20 yrs. Surprised we got an Antelope so soon. Possum, while overplayed, was real tight that night, I thought. Ride Captain Ride was really cool too.

Not to mention the first Sweet Jane since they played Loaded in 1998.
anyone know of any cheap hotels around atl for the show?
I'm splitting the cheapest double room that I could find in that area with a friend: Savannah Suites Pine Street 140 Pine Street Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30308

Bring a gun. That place is beyond sketch. Hookers/Crack heads/Homeless dudes. It's bad.
I heard the homeless shelter is no longer located near this hotel. I spoke with a homeless man about a month ago when I was up there for mayhem fest & refused and he told me that they stay at the YMCA now. How long ago was it that you stayed there? Regardless, I cancelled it because caddyshaq just found me a ticket for Oak Mntn, so we're gonna drive home after the ATL show and stop at a rest area on the way home if we get tired.

The drive home from Atlanta to Mobile after a show is only for the hardcore. Respect.
A friend and made the drive after Ween at the Tabernacle. Resulted in an epic drive home dialogue.
Yeah, we're just gonna get shit-faced-hammer-time drunk at b'ham show since the hotel is walking distance away and stay sober for the ATL show. The drive home from ATL is not as bad if you split the distance with a friend, but doing it by yourself is brutal.
just booked a room for the Hilton in ATL. i convinced my girlfriend to drive up with me to go to the aquarium and see phish on saturday. (she's going to kill me when she finds out its the band)
