Just came across this on the site. www.bonnaroo.com/tickets/groop-camping/ If you have a min. 24 people you can get 8 car passes to camp in "Groop Camping" along with everyone your with for $30 a head. It shows a map and it looks pretty close to Centeroo. You have to have your ticket already purchased, so i guess payment planners can't do it? so, what do you guys think? Are you gonna shell out the extra cash to be able to be sure your camping with the group and be a little closer to Centeroo? I'm not 'cause i don't see paying for VIP then buying this and i've really never had any trouble in the past staying with my group..Let's discuss!
EDIT: Mods, feel free to move this to That Tent, i didn't realize i put this under What Stage..it's early here

I can see the benefits to making sure that you are not in BFE but then again I have never been stuck there and have never had a problem keeping the group together.
That area doesn't look like anything special. It's a few spots back from where I was in 2008 and I still had a 10-15 minute walk. Sure, 15 minutes isn't too bad, but there's nothing awesome about this unless you're super scared you'll end up in BFE and don't really know how to organize a group for the march to Tent Only.
The awesome part is that you don't all have to get there at the same time. I hate trying to coordinate meeting people along the trip, then meeting more people at walmart before we go in, then trying to tell the toll booth people which cars are in the group so that they will keep us together. This way i get there at 6 in the morning you get there at 6 at night and we are still all camped right next to each other.
You get an 8 car pass for 24 people. For every 3 people more you get another pass. If you have more people in the cars, you still get the extra passes. My group for Bonnaroo is huge (includes friends from 5 different states including PA, NJ, RI, NY, and TN) with almost 40 people across 9 vehicles. We do at least 4 to a car (plus usually a few people will rent mini-vans). So, with some basic math, if we have about 50 people this year in our group (it's growing) we will get about 16 vehicle passes for only about 12-13 cars. That means lots of extra partay room. It's not really about the area, I don't mind the 10-15 minute walk, and I feel like the Groop Camping spot will be the party spot this year... 10-20 huge groups that will eventually consolidate into one giant party camp
It is the three person per vehicle rule that kills me.
It's not a rule. They specifically state if you want to car pool with more people, you still get the extra passes. Probably an extra incentive to carpool. If you wanna shove 4-5 people in your vehicle, thats fine. At least that's how I understood it.

24 people and 8 cars is how I understood it.
For camp inforoos purpose if we are going to spend 720 bucks, I think we should just buy 10 or so ezups for group shade.

"A minimum of 24 people. This gets you 8 vehicle passes to park in the Groop Camping area. As the Group Organizer, you will assign them as you see fit. Remember, fewer vehicles in your group will mean more space to camp within your area, so make plans to carpool if you can and keep the extra passes as souvenirs.
What if you have more than 24 people? Bigger party! Additional Groopies can be added easily. For every 3 additional people, you’ll get one more vehicle pass."
What I think that means is that your groups "campsite" is given x amount more room for every vehicle pass they have. Then a few days before the fest, they'll section them off for each group, so if group A has 8 car passes and group B has 12 car passes, group B's sectioned off spot will be larger. But if group B only shows up with 8 vehicles because of carpooling, they will still get the 12 car sized spot, bigger than group As, even though they have the same amount of vehicles.

Lono- Why don't you just pack yr gear down to tents only and Camp Inforoo? It's easy/free. Do two hauls with my wagon and you'll never have to hike the rest of the weekend.
Has anyone attempted to get on the wait-list? I sent two e-mails already, one requesting to be put on the list and another asking for confirmation that I'm on it, and have gotten no response.

Hi everyone! Today I was able to create a groop! We are looking for additional campers to fill us out to 24! Right now we are only at about 10. Message me for more details!
We got Groop Camping spot #9 this year and are trying to fill it up. We have about a dozen or so confirmed so far and a few definite maybes, so we need several more to get us up to at least the minimum 24. It's a great group of people and we'd love to have you join us. Email me at bajenkin@comcast.net if you are interested.
Is there a waiting list for group camping leaders. I know their sold out but in the off chance that someone decides they don't want to be a group leader I'd love to be in line to buy their ticket and spots!
