Because they would want to keep themselves as a "get" at their own festival and not whore themselves out the weekend before?
Oh and because it will have been nearly two years since "The Whole Love" was released come June.
Pretty sure they're on the lineup for another fest a week or two before 'roo already, so this theory doesn't hold up much anymore. Also, I would consider Wilco one of those bands where it doesn't matter if they've released an album recently because they have such a great live show and their fans will always come out to see it.
Turns out they're playing the Nelsonville Festival in Nelsonville, OH two weekends before. You've confirmed it, they definitely WILL NOT be at Bonnaroo. Thanks for the info.

Again, this really doesn't click with me. They can easily play 3 festivals in a row, they won't have a problem selling their own fest. It's over 1000 miles away, and can draw. If anything, it'd make a wilco fan pass on Roo for solid sound, not the other way around
I just don't get your logic. Not saying its not right, just saying I don't get it.
Was it really 2 years since Whole Love hit? Time flies.

Yeah, its not like they'd be playing all of these festivals (besides their own) for all the dates. Why would Wilco have any problem playing two shows in the three weeks before their own festival? Especially when they are so far apart, and they are completely different fests. Solid Sound is much more of a family friendly vibe, the demographic doesn't really cross over into 'roo territory.
I started from page one without looking at the dates, and was ten or so posts in thinking, man these people suck, before realizing that I was actually the one who sucks.
Did the exact same thing....the whole time I'm thinking....WTF wasn't Bon Iver there last year? They're going to bring them back? Then I just felt like an ass.
