Would have been nice to get Tuesday tickets for NYC as well. I debated for a minute whether or not I should get them and I decided to try but that minute probably cost me the tickets. Oh well. One night of Jack White is better than none. And alabama shakes? Awesome. They went from being unknown to me to being an act I'll see 3 times by the end of the summer (Jack White, Roo, Newport Folk). So pumped.
so it looks like Im gonna have to pay over face on a resale website but the only one I see is like 150$ for two and I only need one anyone wanna split it for the orange peel

Always check craigslist before stubhub. Some people who are fans and got tickets but now can't make it (or friends backed out) are usually on craigslist and looking for face value.
That Detroit on-sale was straight-up ridiculous! I was trying to pull up some better seats than I got in the pre-sale (though I got 14th row dead center in the presale so I can't complain) and was shut out by 10:00:15. Unreal. Wouldn't shock me to see another show added. I mean, a 1500-seat theater for a (former) hometown show? Wow.

It sold out while I was in the online queue for the Orange Peel. Really, really bummed. I'll be looking around for tickets, but I honestly don't expect to get any for under $80-$100 apiece.
I talked to a guy at Etix (the Orange Peel's ticket seller) and he said that it was one of the most ridiculous ticket scrums of a show of any scale that they've ever seen, if not the worst. Without going into to much detail, he told me that it was "pure insanity" and that lots of people were "less than polite" with the situation. In short, it was a complete mess.
I consider myself a pretty good in-demand ticket-getter, but I concur, this on-sale was crazy and unlike anything I've ever seen before. Particularly the one-off shows in Detroit and Asheville.
What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
