To those coming to tonight's show (Airline, Chris, Mayo.. who else?):
* We'll meet up @ The Terminal... I'm thinking 6:30ish. I'll try to get us one of the big benches on the upstairs deck/beer garden. If you need to get your tix @ WillCall, be prepared to wait: the line @ Track29 started THIS MORNING! (Srsly, there were people lined up ~10am!)
* The venue has an ATM machine inside right by the merch table. Some shows have been cash-only for merch, which makes no sense to me since you can buy drinks w/plastic... (FYI - the beer selection ROCKS: micros from our local breweries plus Sweetwater, Abita, etc.)
* If you can't make it to the "nosh & slosh" meetup, there will be AMAZING NOMS courtesy of our food trucks. Famous Nater's (famousnaters.com/) burgers & sammies are damn near orgasmic, plus there's a gourmet hot dog vendor & a donut truck, too.
Im headed out the door for the last of my extra work jobs this week - I should headed in your direction at 4pm, no later. If earlier, I'll give you a shout.
Can't wait to see everyone there!!! Operation NOSH-AND-SLOSH-KIDNAP-JACK commence!

I'll probably be down there around 6:30 or so. If we don't go by the terminal we'll be waiting in line. I'll be wearing a toboggan, glasses and a GBMS era White Stripes red t-shirt with the apple on it.

I got a call from a friend who drove down this morning and she said there were like 20 people alread in line at 10:30am. Insane. I also had a chance at a free ticket and took to long to accept and it was given to someone else. Le sigh.
Holls, Mayo, Airline, etc I hope you guys have a good time! I expect to see some awesome vids/photos late tonight or in the morning!

Awesome, awesome show. Some songs worked better than with their old bands (Cut Like a Buffalo, Ball and Biscuit, I'm Slowly Turning in to You) and others slightly less so. All the new songs were absolutely killer and had a lot of layers to them. The female backing band is out of this world though, really allowed Jack to hit third gear on Ball and Biscuit. So awesome to hear him play that one again.

Note: Entire show with Jack's all-female backing band
I like the idea of switching the male female band halfway through but not sure how easy or logical it is ...........jeez can we get some more dates..........preferably in asheville
Not sure how reliable this information is but I figured I'd pass it along. A friend who is a HUGE Jack White and TMR fan heard there is going to likely be an ATL date added. She said the information came from some ATL radio station?

I bet he announces another set of dates around Hangout. Hopefully the ATL date doesn't directly conflict with the Hangout dates, I'd love to catch him twice this summer.

My apologies to everyone, that was indeed my shrieks of delight that ruined everyone's eardrums.
I seriously had become content with the fact that I may never see Jack do Stripes songs. My hands were shaking during Dead Leaves, and I may have gotten a little teary eyed during Hotel Yorba.
#careswaytoomuch.
At this point, I feel pretty confident in saying this was my favorite show ever, besides the LCD NYC shows (which I doubt will ever be topped)
The Chatt show was killer, like a greatest hits show with some good new tunes to glue it all together like one of those garlic grilled cheese. Even better i took one of my employees on a ticket that was supposed to be canceled, due to double ordering, and it scanned and got him in....2 tix for the price of 1...and now i'm the best boss ever
^ Excellent review! (Much better, IMO, than the brief writeup in Rolling Stone.) I just wish somebody could explain to me how my town scored that coup. Sure, I know AC Ent books for the venue, but daaaaaaamn! It still blows my mind. That, plus the fact that so many outta-towners got tickets when locals couldn't. That's another mystery. (The guy in line in front of me & Mayo drove ELEVEN HOURS from Wisconsin for the show!)
I'm bummed that there were NO POSTERS left by the time I got in. Oh well...it was a great show nonetheless.

To my understanding he wanted to do smaller shows to test his new material...so lucky us. That being said the 2 girls in front of us came from Colorado, though they had business in VA. I guess they just made a slight variation in there flight plan

Eh, not really. I mean, it was the first public show, demand was high for this show all over the country. In the days of internet sales, being a local doesn't really factor into that.
^ No, I don't mean just for this show. It sold out in seconds, as did the Avetts' show on Dec 30. Most locals got shut out for both shows yet folks from elsewhere had no trouble getting thru on the venue's server. For a city that has the country's fastest internet, we locals are perplexed as to why.
Oh well. At least I got to see both shows.
And did anybody see what the poster is going for on eBay? One for $199; another for $250. HOLY HIGHWAY ROBBERY, BATMAN!

Gah.
White Stripes in 05 is still my favorite show (only thing close is Byrne at Roo 09) but I had no problems with him pulling out the Stripes songs (esp. since so many people missed them on their Elephant and GBMS tours, which I thought were a notch above anything before or after). Some didn't work as well, but some worked much better.
The primal energy of The Stripes will always be unmatched to me, but man this is probably the best mixture of all 3 of his bands. Wouldn't mind him focusing on this group (and the Racs) for the foreseeable future.

Feel like it's still a case of simple demand. I'm sure there were plenty of out of towners that didn't get them as well.
