I got to thinking, is Mac Miller the most offensive act that Bonnaroo has ever booked? And I don't mean offensive from a moral standpoint. I mean offensive from a taste standpoint.

I was really not interested in Eminem, but I guess I'm not in the majority when I say I really enjoyed the show... I felt like he was really giving 110%, unlike some artists that just go through the motions... High energy and old hits was enough for me to enjoy the show.
Oh and by the way, Mac Miller really really sucks.
I was lying in a burned out basement With the full moon in my eyes. I was hoping for replacement When the sun burst thru the sky. There was a band playing in my head And I felt like getting high.

This... the only people that claimed to have ''hated'' the Eminem show were the people that just hated him for being the Bonnaroo headliner with so much mainstream success
Look at all these new people coming out of the woodwork to defend Mac Miller...! I enjoy all genres (except for about 99.8% of Country Music) but this guy is weak... I'm sure back in my freshman year of college, before I had a job, and a wife, and a real life, I possibly would have enjoyed this drunk at a Frat party... It's like if Alvin and the Chipmunks were performing, ya sure they have a select audience, but totally a waste of a lineup spot IMO.
Edit: I actually hope he's super big and everyone goes to see him, leaving me to wander between all of the other shows crowd free!

Sorry dude but like you said I am a college freshmen and I do understand why true Bonnaroo go-ers hate the idea of Miller being there... but I'm just saying he goes all out for his live shows.. I'm not trying to convince you to go or anything

No worries, music tastes generally evolve over time. In 2002 if you would have told me I'd reallllly be into Indie-Folk music I probably would have punched you...

How Mac Miller isn't universally disliked I'll never understand. Fans of actual hip-hop should hate him for being the personification of everything wrong in the hip-hop industry. Music fans should hate him because he's a talent black hole, whose suckitude is exceeded only by his douchitude. White people should hate him for making people think that his act is something we condone. Black people should hate him for trying to be like them. Pittsburgh should definitely hate him. Steel city? More like "Steal," as in Miller "steals" countless moments from people that they'll never get back.
I can get drunk to make a lottttt of things fun. SATs (true story), a funeral (if you knew my family you wouldn't think this was a scummy thing to do), shoe shopping with my girlfriend, dentist visits, resetting broken fingers, headbutting things to play "the strength test" game, watching chick flicks are all un-fun things I've made fun by drinking. And I'm sure I could add to this list.
Mac Miller is not nor will he ever be added to this list. That's correct, I would have more fun being drunk at a funeral than I would being drunk at a Mac Miller concert.

Ah yes, the classic "hater" argument: "you only hate Artist X because they're super popular and rich and famous!" This is easily countered by stating "no, I like Artists Y and Z, and they're super rich and famous and popular, but Artist X is genuinely crappy and puts on a terrible live show. So, the dislike is justified."
It IS possible to think something is terrible and have a valid, easily explainable reason. When people complaint about Eminem's set they dislike many things - his overreliance on a backing track/ lip synching, the fact that he played way too many of his recent songs, all of which come pre-fabricated in the newly patentned "Eminem Angry" voice, the fact that he played "Lighters," there's lots of genuine reasons.
Now back to your regularly scheduled Mac Miller hate-a-thon.
I'm sorry then you must live a really depressing life if you can't drink and have a good time at a mac miller show
Actually I agree with you. If I were to go to his show really drunk I'd probably have a really good time trying to throw stuff at him, so it's a good idea I stay away.

I love this city, I bleed black and gold, but even Pittsburgh hates Mac Miller.
And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.
I'm a bit concerned that this thread contains both nice things being said about Mac Miller and mean things being said about Mac Miller. Is there any way we can compartmentalize these topics into two separate threads, so that noone gets their feelings hurt?

This guy is a goon. I can't decide over which show I'd go to first him or Skrillex. I hate to say but I'd probably have to say Skrillex. I can't deal with white thugs with downs.
