7 tracks in on this Robert Hood album and not gonna lie I'm bored as fuck. Every song sounds the same and no song ever really climaxes at all. Super stagnant to me. Gonna finish this one out in the hopes there's at least one great track. On to FJAAK next.

Bummer you didn't like it, FJAAK is definitely more diverse.

I'm not too knowledgeable about electronic albums but I love Jacques Greene and I thought Jlin was pretty cool. Recommendations?
For albums released this year, I'd recommend the following:
Octo Octa - Where Are We Going?
DJ Sports - Modern Species
Bonobo - Migration
Daphni - Fabriclive 93
Robert Hood - Paradygm Shift
FJAAK - FJAAK
Seb Wildwood - The One With The Emoticon
Visible Cloaks - Reassemblage
Talaboman - The Night Land
SW - The Album
Yeah wow very disappointed in the Hood album. Meanwhile all his Floorplan shit slaps. I'm halfway through this FJAAK album and I love it thus far. Also Walaka I'd recommend Carl Craig's Versus. It has alot of live instrumentation and collabs with composers. Some extremely crazy horns and strings on that album. Epic on a nice soundsystem.

In Seattle and torn between three events tonight: -Q Nightclub with g-house/garage producers/DJs Sirius Hood and Codes -Kremwerk (known for hosting underground acts like Avalon Emerson and DJ Stingray) with DJ Sotofett and LNS -Monkey Lounge with a Burning Man-inspired party with deep and bass music.

What do?
I vote for Kremwerk.

FWIW, after spending a week or so with this Bicep record, it's what I thought it would be. A bunch of good tracks, but overlong. I really think instead of a 12 song album, this would have worked better as three 3 song EPs.
Coincidentally, I first got into Bicep when they remixed a Blondes track back in 2012. That's my way of transitioning into the fact that the new Blondes album is great.
I only listened the whole album once, but the first two singles are the strongest I think. I was considering to get a ticket for NYC show, but I'm gonna think again.

I don't know if it's a DJ set or live, but Bicep Live is one of the best shows I've seen of anything this year. I'd definitely go if I were you.

I dunno, man. I'd still go see them, it's not like they're just gonna play the album front to back or anything. Bicep are rad as hell.
Yeah I think you're right. Also it seems like they're not touring frequently over here.

It's a live show. I trust your opinion. I'll probably end up purchasing a ticket.
Listened to the Bicep album this weekend. I went in expecting just a couple good tracks but wow it is fucking good. A very easy front to back listen, it's almost like a mix. House albums are tough to pull off as well. Think it's my electronic album of the year.
There are a bunch of artists like this on spotify and they're all on Four Tet's Artist spotlight playlist. Is all of this new Four Tet music? Does anybody have any answers!?!?!?!?
