Yup. Still haven't made a decision, my girlfriend and I even watched some live sets from both and really don't have a preference either way lol we're struggling with this choice

Really jelly of your events this week. Fatima Yamaha played on Thursday and Ben UFO and Four Tet played last night.

I don't actually live in Chicago unfortunately, my girlfriend lives there in addition to some family and really close friends. I plan on moving there eventually if I can make it happen. I really love the music scene there. Fatima played at Smart Bar and we thought about going but just didn't feel like going out that night. As for the second event, that was at a venue called The Mid and it might be the worst venue I've ever seen a concert at. It's a douchey club that gives about ten yards of dancing space, and then the rest is couches for VIPs. It's extremely crowded, has a dress code, and I know it's Chicago but the drinks are ridiculously expensive. I can't imagine ever giving them my money again.
I ended up choosing Kink over Moderat. It was cheaper, closer to friends apartments so we could pre game and be able to walk as opposed to paying for an Uber/Lyft, and I just really like the vibe at Smart Bar and I didn't think I'd be disappointed. He was amazing, I love how much fun he seems to be having on stage while he's playing, it's really infectious. Really happy with my choice, and I converted a couple of friends to the Smart Bar life.

I went to the Mid once for a Lolla aftershow, and it did resemble the Miami bottle clubs. But, I would think a Ben UFO/Four Tet team-up would draw a decent crowd.

I'm praying they don't have any good aftershows there this year lol
The Mid is the fucking aids of Chicago clubs. I hope it burns down to the ground (with no one inside). Went to a Lolla aftershow there one year and it was terrible.
And you couldn't have made a wrong choice between KiNK/Moderat, though personally I would have done Moderat.
Heading to Amsterdam this weekend for Lente Kabinet Festival. Anyone recognize any names that I should check out? Other than Leon Vynehall, Ben UFO, John Talabot, Daniel Avery.
Not really into Ben UFO much, so the plan is to check out the beginning of his set, and then head to a club across town where Dauwd and Gold Panda (LIVE) are performing. Should be a great day of tunes.

I would stay at the Eerste Kamer stage all day and then close with Ben UFO

Mhmmm that Tom Trago -> Vynehall -> Talabot run sounds magical.
The entire run will likely be Tom Trago > Leon Vynehall > John Talabot, > Fatima Yamaha > Daniel Avery > Ben UFO > Dauwd > Gold Panda > Weed > Red Light District > Casino > BED

Holy fucking wow. I had heard a couple Jon Hopkins tracks in my life but listened to Immunity for the first time ever last night and it fucked me up. You know that feeling you get when you know an album is something really special? The whole album I had that and I was just saying ohmygod or how?? Or whaaaaat!? Watching live Boiler Room now and I have the same feeling. I'm in love, man do I love electronic music. Fuck.

Now go get some good headphones, close your eyes, and listen to the "Asleep Version EP" he put out and your mind will be blown all over again.

This was great, I've never really dug into Jon Hopkins besides Immunity. Somehow his production just seems cleaner than almost anything I've ever heard.

What the actual run ended up being like. Drank way too much during the day in the sun and left early cause I was exhausted.

its because he's Brian Eno's protégée and has mild synesthesia.
How is Flume live? Considering taking the gf to his show in Pitt for a night of dancing.
Live aspect is pretty weak but if you like the music, you'll have a fun time. I swear to god he is faking doing it live in his Boiler Room set. Watch it it's hilarious.
