whats our favorite guess so far? Mines the pixies or paul simon, though i can't quite make the connection for the mini-liar part and paul simon... though in the bible Paul was sometimes called the false apostle or Paul the Liar. But nothing's misspelled. Still like my logic on the pixies though...
my thought was a small lie like a twisting of words. I have good news!.. for people who like bad news. also miss spelling of Mini, could be Minnie as in Minnie Mouse. ahh im just fishing now. also im from Baltimore, Murderland

There is two ways to look at "mini-liar." Either a mini peson who lies, or a person who tells mini lies. The hyphen probably points the way to which of the two is the right way to take it. My vote would be as someone who tells mini lies, as i feel that by way of the hyphen the clue denotes a strong connection between mini and lie. A mini liar would be a small person that lies, a mini-liar would be a person who tells small lies. No real logic behind it, but that's how i read it.

So we have to misspell a person's name who tells small (minor) lies.
Really? Do we know anyone who is known for his/her small (minor) lies?
Not necessarily, in my estimation. That part of the clue doesn't have to be a misspelling of a particular person's proper name. There are plenty of names for liars...phony, fibber, fabricator, fabler, etc.
