Woody Guthrie is a folk singer that died in 1967. I found a copy of his New Years resolutions from 1942. I am taking most of mine from his list, and adding a couple of my own:
(his are above the line, the ones I added, below it)
1) Work more and better 2) Eat good - Fruit - Vegetables - Milk 3) Shine shoes 4) Learn people better 5) Stay glad 6) Dream good 7) Save dough 8) Have company but don't waste time 9) Dance better 10) Love everybody 11) make up your mind 12) Wake up and fight *********************************** 13) No more buying tobacco products at all 14) get outside more, especially with kids 15) realize when I am making excuses and STOP 16) Become what I am capable of
GL, you know we've been through this! Unless I find a sugar daddy, I will not be doing any international travel until my money is saved. I'm a single gal with lots of bills to pay!
i finish my TEFL training this month, which is when i begin my job search. from my friends already over in korea, the job demand for english teachers is high and the period between being hired and actually starting is about 3-4 months. so i'll probably be over there in april, may, june.
i'm not sure yet. I'm still in training. right now i am looking at either EPIK (education programs in korea) or TALK (teach and learn in korea), seeing as those are the programs my friends used to find jobs.
my advisor told me that the job hiring would go much smoother if i waited to get all my necessary paperwork done before interviewing. my fbi background check was sent out in early November so i am hoping i get the results back this month or in February.

if your idea of sugar daddy includes 10% off all merchandise at trader joes, than I'll gladfully apply for the position.

haha, I'll let you know (and wow, only 10%? I also should tell you that Tennessee doesn't have a state income tax, so our sales tax is insanely high: 9.25% on everything. So your discount here will basically pay for no tax and that's it.)
GL, you know if you pay for me, I'll gladly join you in Europe! But until then, you'll just have to keep us all informed of your foreign "incidents".

our CA sales tax just got lowered from 9.75 to 8.75, but we have state income tax as well.
most of the stuff trader joe's sells is tax free though, so maybe there's still some hope of me impressing you with that discount

What does TJ sell that is tax exempt? Am I missing something??
hmmm maybe its just california then, but we don't pay any sales tax on grocery food items. there is tax on prepared food, but not cold food that you bring home and prepare yourself. 90% of the stuff we sell at our local tj's is tax free, except for stuff like soap/toiletries, pet food, carbonated beverages (but juice is still tax free, go figure).
also at subway you can see the tax savings: cold sub to go: no tax. (i guess it's technically not prepared) cold sub eat in: taxed. hot sub to go/eat in: taxed. (because it's techinically prepared)
i could have sworn that is nationwide thing but I guess just california we're not taxed on groceries?

Ah, no we have tax on food. We have tax on everything! That's what I was trying to tell you... you'll pay 9.25 on food here as well as everything else!
Sorry, guess we should have mentioned that in the "moving to Nashville" thread. I've lived here my whole life so I'm used to it, I always forget other places don't have sales tax on a food.
Anyway, I thought of another "resolution" or goal to strive for this year: saying something to kind or doing something nice to/for someone each day.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Break the Coke habit. Lose 25 pounds by my birthday. Gift more gifts. Try harder to keep the lint out of my belly button. Introduce at least on person to Black Rock City. Build/design a Zoetrope. Stay away for the poker table.
