Also, I am aware that haters will definitely hate on my list. However, I went to a ton of shows this year, and these are the ones that stick out. Even someone like Kid Rock, who I wasn't really a fan of before his show. His stage show was great though, and I was very impressed.
9/24 Basscenter 4 at the D.C Armory. Now that was a party.
Also Umphrey's McGee in September. They had a two night stay but could only make it to one because I had tickets to the Nationals on the second night. Kinda wish I did because that first night was fantastic.

When he dropped Pink Elephants on Parade. Godddamn the stadium went nuts. One of the friends i was with was on somethin and she went apeshit when the Dumbo scene was playing on the screen.
That laser show setup he had was nasty. Those things reached throughout the entire building. And candy girls everywhere!! Goddamn he needs to come back.

Nah it's the same thing. Basscenter was Bassnectar with several opening acts. It was Z-Trip(great mashup DJ), Big Gigantic, and DJ Laura. Instead of a club he played at a 10-15k arena
Just a really long, boring, repetitive show IMO. I like Godspeed and love post rock but I just thought that most of their music that night went nowhere whereas acts like EITS and Mogwai (hell even Album Leaf and This Will Destroy You) delivered far better sets with a better flow of tunes and/or selected setlists with more variation. I also thought the live projections were weak.
1. Sound Tribe Sector 9 - Tabernacle - 12/28 - Baraka!!!!, Crystal Instument, Peoples, Luma Daylight, Today, Grow, just every single thing about it. 2. Sound Tribe Sector 9 - Tabernacle - 12/27 - Walking out to Georgia On My Mind with pictures of the Atlanta skyline on the LEDs, Dance, Equinox, And Some Are Angels, Monkey Music 3. Sound Tribe Sector 9 - Tabernacle - 12/29 - Just a guess 4. Godspeed You! Black Emperor - 40 Watt Club - 3/22 - One of the most moving performances I have ever seen. David Bryant's haunting guitar lines transcended beauty. 5. Coldplay - Music Midtown - 9/25 - Amazing company probably had a lot to do with a few of these, but they really were amazing live. The fireworks were awesome. 6. SBTRKT - Moogfest - 10/29 - What an incredible show. This was an absolute dance party, at least where I was. I honestly couldn't tell you how the crowd was reacting as a whole. Aaron Jerome is such a talent, doing all the programming and killing it on the drum kit. 7. Kanye West - Coachella - 4/17 - Mr. West delivered the performance of a lifetime. He was so grateful and energetic and played all of his hits. He even made me appreciate, even like, 808s And Heartbreak. Kdogg, crazykitten and I got DOWN. 8. Sound Tribe Sector 9 - Bonnaroo - 6/11 - Circus at sunrise. Enough said. 9. The Chemical Brothers - Coachella - 4/15 - This was just so intense. I felt like I was running through the jungle at one point. 10. Deerhunter - Bonnaroo - 6/9 - My first time seeing one of my favorite bands, and they absolutely blew me away. Apparently this set was really different than their norm but they were just exploring every song to its fullest potential and getting really weird with it. 11. The National - Coachella - 4/17 - Those colors in the sky. Amazing vibes at this set, and of course they were amazing. 12. My Morning Jacket - Bonnaroo - 6/10 - Got to be in the pit with (some of) my favorite Inforoosters. I swear Jim pointed at us cause we were rocking out so hard. 13. Mavis Staples - Bonnaroo - 6/12 - Such a beautiful experience. I don't know if got to me from being so drained from STS9 the night before or what, but she just blew me away. She made my soul feel like it was being cleansed. I remember tearing up after she made a speech about the freedom train and turing to Rosko and just saying "Wow." I think he said "Yeah, that was really powerful," through, though he surely won't admit it, watery eyes himself.
