So I got two tickets this morning on ebay for $212.50 and paid the guy immediately using PayPal. I needed the tickets shipped today to get them before I leave, and the ad said overnight shipping the same day as payment. I've sent the guy three emails and nothing. I pulled his info off ebay and the phone number is out of service. That's not a big deal--people change phones all the time w/o updating their ebay record--but suddenly I got a baddddd feeling. And I can't find him in the phone book either....
Any suggestions? One good thing is that he lives in Charlotte and I could drive up to get them tomorrow, late...but that sucks.
His feedback was slight (6), but all positives. But I was in a hurry and just paid the PayPal direct from my checking, so that was a mistake.
I'm going to assume that it will all work out. I think I can contest it with PayPal even though he has my cash, but I hate having to go through all that.
If I don't hook up with him, to hell with it. I'll buy some in Manchester Wednesday night...they GOTTA be there....
Hootdaddy, I found the listing on E-bay. The last positive feedback was almost 1 year ago. Sometimes acounts are highjacked but this one probably not because the seller isn't selling other items but only these tickets
I hope you will hear by morning from this seller
I think it's just a communication problem.
Late shipment is probably your biggest concern.
With such short time left I would always E-mail the seller before bidding and even asking them to call me or e-mail me their number before bidding so we could get everything straightand resolved any concerns.
BTW shipping services will never guarrantee more than the refund of the shipping cost for late deliveries.
It is also possible that you may not have any recourse for a late shipment when there is only a day or two to get the item. Please consult with E-bay & PayPal for answer
If you haven't heard from the seller by morning I would call PayPay by phone and explain your situation.
Hope all goes well.
BTW Bonnaroo is sold out and a couple single tickets just sold a few minutes ago for $200+ on Ebay

Thanks for the info. I just sent an email to the listserv with some info on the guy I think has them. I'm somewhat heartened since the fellow is apparently a taper and an ekoostik fan.
Just on a long shot, I *think* I bought tickets from:
Kevin R. Hartwick former address?: 2405 Haybrook Ln, CLT, NC, 28262
He may be the same Kevin Hartwick who hosts a regular Open Mic night at Jack Mason's Tavern on South Blvd in Charlotte.
If you know him, please have him call 803-744-1305. Thanks.
Some info found on the web -- Google Groups *there was a guy that posted under that name in 97 and 98 on gdead and some programing groups. Here is an email Hartwick@sprynet.com

I hope this helps, I feel your pain. I was ripped off a few years back on a camcorder with ubid.com. There's nothing more frustrating in the world. My only advice for you if you did indeed get ripped take a deep breath and take what you can from the experience. I'm sure it'll never happen again!
And...I have 100% belief that you will be Aok going down to the site and purchasing tickets before you get in for probably a third of the cost. Finally if you see the Ain't Life Grand? camp stop by and I'll roll a big fattie for you, I promise.
Life is long my friend and there are too many beautiful things out there to let some jackass take the wind from your sails.
Hey, thanks Joe. I'm still being positive, but we'll just have to see what happens. At any rate, I'm going even if I'm paying face at the gate...but I, like you, think that even though I'm arriving Wednesday I'll be able to find tickets in no time at a good discount.
I'll look for that flag, natch. Ain't Life at ROO 3 Grand!
I wouldn't post names and addresses & phone numbers on this board better to E-mail them to Hootdaddy
Some of these people may be falsely accusted, info harvested etc.
I have heard that a lot of people are waiting to buy those cheap tickets like last year but if a whole lot more come to buy them there it could drive the price up. You just never know. That's why I think it didn't sell out till today as many had the same idea to buy them cheap near bonnaroo.
I post a link under subject Getting tickets @ Bonnaroo ?? with a close up view and how to tell counterfit tickets

there will be tix everywhere... saw lots going for 60 bucks last year. makes me wonder why i pay full price. but hell with it, its so very worth it. and its relaxing to know that you dont have to go down looking for tix...
hey hootdaddy just some encouragement......i bought 2 tix may 25 for 2 of my friends......i thought i got burned b/c i sent 4 emails to the chick with no responses......i just got them in yesterday......she didn't even mail the freakin things til friday......some people have no clue how nervous you can get buying things off ebay.....but it all worked out for me......hope yours come thru.....good luck dude
Not much help now, but if you don't get them, you can probably get some of your money back through ebay's fraud protection plan. I had to use it once, and they refunded everything but the shipping and a 25$ service charge. Kind of a slow process, but its better than nothing. I hope you get them and don't have to worry about it!
Have you heard anything from Paypal...they should be able to insure your money so at least you can get it back if the tickets don't pan out...don't worry I have a good feeling about this....it will work out! ;D
Good news. My new best friend Kevin emailed at 2:14 a.m. and I called him early this morning; I'll have the tickets in hand before I leave at noon tomorrow.
You know, it is very likely that any of us arriving tomorrow will be relatively close to each other. Is there a Wednesday night meetup planned, say, for midnight?
Thanks for all who supported my through my time of crisis, natch. Much love to you all.
My tickets are in hand and I'm leaving in two hours. Signing off now, but I really, really, really hope to see some of you guys. Come on by Camp Hoot. I promise to behave...
