Lunardi currently has them as a 10 seed, which is ludicrous. They are definitely better than all current 8-9 seeds and most 7 seeds, Creighton being the only debatable team. I was hoping with today's game they could play their way up to a 6 seed, to avoid meeting them in the second round, I guess we will know Sunday.
Wow. That Cincy-Georgetown game was awesome. A ton of high-pressure shots at the end of regulation and the two OTs. Now, Cincy and their tired legs get to move on. ... to get stomped by Syracuse.
Being a huge Univ of Tennessee we need a big win tonight to help our cause for a possible NCAA berth. If we can pick up two wins in the SEC Tourney it should be enough especially with Miss State losing last night
I just want to say this is one of my favorite times of the year. This weekend and next, at least for me, are magical. And by the way, I can't believe Wisconsin just beat Indiana in what was pretty much a home gate for Indiana. Wow. I really, really dislike Bo Ryan and the kind of slow-it-waaaaaay-down and beat-up-your-opposition basketball he coaches. There's no artistry to it. Darn Wisconsin.

UConn is in now. I forgot teams with losing records in big conferences still get in (which is a joke in my opinion). Indiana played really well against Wisconsin and I feel like they are a 4 or 5 seed (a 5-12 matchup could be horrible for them.)
Just finished watching NCState get ROBBED against UNC. Horrible calls cost them the game. Glad I recorded it so I can show my UNC fans the obvious missed calls. Makes it easier when they see it to believe it. The biggest surprise for me this tourny week is Syracuse losing to Cinnci.

UNC and UK both looked terrible today. Tony Greene should never be allowed to officiate a SEC game, especially after getting suspended last year in a game involving Ky. Having said that, Vanderbilt played very well down the stretch and, despite hitting Anthony Davis several times and no calls, Cats hit their free throws and they win.
UNC just did not show up early but played well down the stretch against FSU. A couple of bad calls and horrible decisions (Why did they not get the ball to Zeller?) cost them the game. Despite both of these cases, I like these teams to both make the Final Four.

You can count me in! My wife and I always do a challenge. The loser buys dinner at a fancy restaurant. For some strange reason - strange because I watch a ton of college basketball, even the late night west coast games on ESPN - she's won two of three. We thankfully tied last year or I would have been on the hook for a lobster dinner. Whew.

damn it! my two favorite schools matched up in the first round. my alma mater ohio university and michigan, my favorite since they won the championship in '89. i even called the matchup before they revealed the brackets.

The commitee gets on my nerves. I have no gripes with teams that got in or seeding, but the potential matchups they create are so obviously designed for tv ratings. (Duke-UK 20th anniversary, Mike Brey vs. Coach K, Harrison Barnes vs. McDermott, Roy vs. Kansas, UK vs. Indiana rematch) I'm sure there are plenty more, those are the ones that immediately jumped out at me, though.

I think you're reaching a bit much with the intent of the committee with those potential matchups, approo. How many people know Mike Brey was an assistant at Duke? It was over 15 years ago that he left. And while they weren't listed this way by the committee, I think a lot of people would agree that Duke is the weakest 2 seed, so putting them with the #1 overall makes sense.

In some cases it may be coincidence, but you would have to be a fool to believe these things don't come up when they are discussing putting the brackets together. Some of the potential matchups would have been pretty obvious to the commitee, I don't fault them for doing it, I just think its worth noting. The placement is not completely random.
And many may think Duke is the weakest 2 seed, they do have some glaring weaknesses, but at the same time have the ability to beat anyone when the 3 ball is falling (same goes for Mizzou), but to be perfectly honest, there isn't a big disparity between the 1 & 2 seeds. Especially in comparison to past years. Sure most would say UK and Cuse are a step above everyone, but everyone below that is on a pretty even level. Going into this past weekend you had 6, maybe even 8, teams who all had decent cases for getting a number 1 seed, it all worked itself out, but there is a lot of parity in this year's bracket.

Hey, I'm an OU grad, too. Nice to bump into another on here, but I have to admit I have no conflict in my rooting interest for that game, having grown up in between Athens and Columbus on Rt. 33.
I think we will see 4 ACC teams in the sweet 16. UNC, FSU, Duke, and NC State. Big East will have another rough year overall. Cuse and Louisville will do some damage, but that is about it.

NC State?! And Big East envy all in the same post?! Glad you got that out of your system. Happy March!

CJ Leslie is a beast. They were beating Duke by 20 at Cameron Indoor (granted they did lose but still impressive). They took UNC down to the last second. I think they can beat G Town. Remember last year when the Big East was the "best" conference and then was horrible in the tournament overall. And the Big East this year is no where near what it was last year.
