I've never listened to his solo stuff. But he's clearly amazing, at least his work with Wilco, Sonic Youth, Loose Fur is. A Ghost is Born is the finest Wilco album IMO. Enjoy!
St. Vincent - Strange Mercy ..... Ohgr - Undeveloped Scratch Acid - Greatest Gift ..... George Jones - The Essential .... Cluster - Eruption .... James Blake - James Blake John Cale - Paris 1919 .... Big Black - Songs About F.uc.kin.g
The new Wilco is sounding sooo good. Thanks all for the leaky reminders. I'm also fond of the Jim O'Rourke record and always love me some Songs About Fvcking. Now to dig those out.

Haha, no I've not. Will check it out, though. I bet it's awesome. I have a book that has a whole chapter on him bashing the early nineties indie rock music (can't remember the name for my life, bought it over a decade ago), and I was really entertained with his writings... no matter how much of a prick he may be.
^ Bishop, that's one of my fave chapters of rock criticism. He flambes The Pixies & has the balls to list what he charged each band for his services. My buddy plays on Steve's softball team The Electrons and took me to a party at his studio Electrical Audio. He was my idol in high school, growing up in Chicago, so needless to say I was pretty dumbstruck.

Can't remember what the fvck it's from... Best Rock Writing or somethin. Anyways, he always gets the "biggest weenie" rep but I think a lot of it is just schtick.
And Mr Eternal, everyone knows the best Phish record is Lawn Boy, followed by Picture of Nectar.

Tonight I'm celebrating the work of guitarist Dave Bryant, otherwise known as "The Man".
Set Fire To Flames - Signs Reign Rebuilder
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Yanqui UXO
"The Man" has discovered a guitar tone that could reduce Chuck Norris to tears and Mr. T to curling into the fetal position with his thumb in his mouth.
Zapp my friend loves Set Fire To Flames. I don't know how pertinent it is, but I felt like it was pretty pertinent.
Quite pertinent, indeed. I originally felt like there was too little to cling to, but the album picked up steam in a big way. It's just so different than GYBE, and I think I had my heart set on a new (to me) amazing GYBE album. It's far more ambient/droney. It kind of makes me feel like a bad fan because I'm longing for those epic life-affirming sections.
