Thoughts on this? I never even listened to her last album.
She loses a little more of her edge with each release. It's still enjoyable and she is a very talented singer. Just doesn't hit me like the early stuff with SBTRKT, Devotion, and most of Tough Love. It's more of a main stream sound. Midnight is probably my favorite track on here, it kind of has a 90's vibe to it. Alone and Selfish Love are both good.
Yeah, Devotion always kind of felt like "stars aligning" and I had my doubts of how well she could follow up on that album's greatness. I'll give the other two a shot at some point, though.

Losing the edge is probably a good way to describe it. The funny thing is I thought Devotion should have been mainstream, she should be huge. The follow ups fall short, but I'm not sure if it's from aiming to be more mainstream.

I hated the song written by Ed Sheeran on the second album. That had her appearing on Good Morning America and other similar shows. All the co-writes with Miguel on Tough Love were fire.

I didn't listen to it much. I might go back and listen.
