Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city First listen. I've been a bad youth.
Ya done quacked up son. As long as you realize this genius so that you can bask in his next work of genius next year.
As much as I really like that album, I feel very confident that I'm going to favor his new album by a lot. Also, the live shows supporting the new album are going to kick his old shows' ass because he will have the live band (especially if Thundercat is a regular member of the group for the tour)
THEY COVER 'THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKIN'?! what the holy fuck that's awesome. I laughed really loud and excitedly when that came on. I had no idea.

Really? That's an interesting thought. Idk, for me I don't necessarily want to compare the two. I just really expect that after the second album I'm going to find they are both superb in their own ways. That as your major album debut is still just mind blowing to me. Agree with you on the live show, you can tell from these past few performances that he's putting a lot more emphasis (at least on TV gigs) on realizing what he's doing on stage. How that's affecting the song. It's been like a complete 90's renaissance.

Yeah, it's not like I'm gonna do an in depth analysis, comparing the two. For me, the rap I like is very heavily dependent upon the beats of the songs. And the beats of the two songs he has released thus far are more my style, kinda jazzy sounding and not as like trappy as some of the stuff off good kid, m.A.A.d city
