Man, listening to this album just highlights what a disappointment This Is All Yours really is. The new one has a few good songs on it, but some of them are downright awful (Every Other Freckle, Left Hand Free, etc). Hoping they still rely heavily on their old material for their live show. But their draw at FFFFest for me definitely has dropped some.
Judas Priest should have been a no-brainer choice that day anyway. Remember to bring a towel to soak up your face off the ground after they play Painkiller.

It wouldn't have been before the new album dropped tbh. Never been a massive Priest fan. But I'll probably bounce between the sets now, at least depending on what alt-js set list is like.

Rob Halford is one of the greatest metal vocalists of all time. I was shocked at how badass the show I caught a few years back was. Start with Priest and I bet you'll stick around.

Give me an album to start with, and I'll check some Priest out again tonight. Tbh I've never given it a fair shake. I have a strange, unjustified aversion to lots of '80's metal. I think it's the hair metal that tainted my opinion of the decade, can't fucking stand that shit.

Start with Screaming for Vengeance and British Steel. If those don't get your dick hard, I don't know what will.
Also, lumping Priest in with 80s hair/glam metal is absolutely ridiculous. Priest, Sabbath, Motorhead, and Maiden pretty much wrote the book on metal. They are gods.

Oh, I fully agree that lumping them in with the 80's hair is ridiculous, hence why I said "strange, unjustified aversion". I just never delved deep into a lot of 80's metal.
But thanks for the rec, will give them a listen over the next day or two.
I can think of a handul of people (on here) that NEED to be at that JP show, Rothric. You are one of those people.
This one obeys.
I guess I can officially allow myself to realize I'm going to FFFFest this year though! My work schedule is lining up perfectly for FFFFest. Now just need to decide if I buy a ticket early, or just show up and hope to score one for cheap day of.
Agreed. The title track has me excited for the real album, but the other 3 are good too. If they're good enough to cut from the complete album, then the new release could be just as good as Tomboy. Hopes are up.

The stuff he was playing on this recent tour was amazing. Very excited for the new album
