My fiance is traveling to Paris tomorrow for work, and is really nervous about the flight. What is the best OTC sleep aid in you guys humble opinion? His flight leaves at 6pm and arrives at 7am, so I think his best bet is just to sleep through the whole thing. Any rec's on sleeping on long flights in general would be helpful, especially if you're a tall dude, he's 6'2" and that's part of the comfort issue he's worried about.

Benadryl knocked me out pretty good on a flight once.
I think a meat and three is more associated with "country" than southern. I likve in NC and it's in places here but also found it up in a diner in upstate NY years ago.
I've never heard this before. I'm guessing it's a breakfast meat and 3 eggs?

Coming back from Spain, I had so much anxiety from flying that I didn't sleep (on the flight). This was after I took a handful of Tylenol PM. I then turned around and drove another 10 hours to Bonnaroo, after we landed.
I don't know what to take but I can tell you what not to.

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Is he flying in economy? If so STOP HIM NOW. Like seriously. Upgrading to Economy Plus (or whatever is a step above) is definitely worth it. Hell, even going Business Class is a good deal if you need the leg room (which us tall people certainly do).
I'm 6'2" as well and I made the mistake of flying regular Economy to Tokyo, Japan; it was quite literally the most uncomfortable 12 hours of my life. I couldn't sleep AT ALL, even after taking a bunch of Valium prior to the flight. My connecting flight from Tokyo to Bangkok was upgraded automatically to Economy Plus due to overbooking, and holy cow the extra 6" of leg room was amazing. Slept the whole 6 hours I was on the plane.
Tell him to get up and walk around every so often to stretch his legs out, I actually stood around for about an hour on my Tokyo flight and it was wayy more comfortable than cramming my legs into the seat. I highly suggest an aisle seat as well so he can stretch his outside leg out a bit more (just make sure it's out of the way if anyone is walking down the aisle).
As far as a sleep aid goes I'm not sure. I have a clonazepam prescription that I can always take when I need to sleep. I have a friend who swears by some Wal-Mart brand sleeping pill but I've never tried it personally.
EDIT: Just realized you said he's flying for work, so hopefully that means they put him in business class. In which case having leg room shouldn't be an issue at all.

Well I'm not tall, but I've taken lots of really long flights. Medicinals and alcohol don't really work for me on flights, so for me it's all about the music. I just put my headphones on with a ton of sleepy/relaxing music and it works every time. Also, if the plane has seatback viewing screens, I keep it on the map/info channel otherwise I get sucked into a movie. If I were 6'2" though, I would definitely agree with the Economy Plus suggestion.
I've never heard of a Meat and Three (honestly, it sounds kinda kinky). Like FuzzyWarbles, I have seen the actual choice before, I've just never heard that specific term. Most specifically at Katy Mae favorite BBQ place that she brought me to But I didn't opt for that choice. She got a giant container of brisket that we picked bites out of like savages while driving
My sister just moved to a town near Jacksonville, FL. I didn't think it was southern either but she spends a lot of time convincing me that it is. All the biscuits and gravy served at the hospital, half the bookstore is bible related, the words people use (ie. fixin), accents of those who aren't transplants, sweet tea everywhere...
Although, my first sign should have been the guy I was chatting with while waiting for Scroggie, Sugar, et al to come collect Zen and I at Wanee. He was in his 50s or so. He was telling me how he'll never get on the plane because they all explode and he wouldn't be able to carry his gun.
In Florida the further north you go(latitude) the further south you are(attitude).

Every time I start to look online at apartments close to NYC/Brooklyn/Queens I always get disappointed and confused as to how people can afford it. I've had the luxury of paying a fraction of what people normally pay to stay in the basement apartment my parents put together and not sure what I can do to get out of here and into something closer to the city. Going to have to really cut back on a lot of shit and maybe try working longer hours to save up. Can't seem to keep any savings together as issues always pop up (vet bills, car trouble, etc.). How do I be an adult?
Well I didn't break 19 minutes (ran a 19:30) like I was shooting for, but I did get 9th overall and came in 2nd in the 20-24 age group. Still got free pancakes!
Her size has nothing to do with complete lack of anything physical. I bet she just really loves cinnabuns.
I would as shocked at this regardless of the delivery person's size, gender, age, whatever. Who just drives up on someone's lawn like that?
I have a handful of houses that I deliver to that require it because of vicious dogs. USPS drivers are the worst though! I was making a delivery last week and saw the USPS lady pull right through the grass up to the guys front door just because she didn't want to walk a few feet. The UPS driver that comes to my house makes a complete U-turn in my yard before stopping to deliver. Doesn't bother me because I know the pain of backing out into a busy street or highway.
