When I was living in Paris and frolicking throughout Europe, I use to collect Doritos bags because they were named something different in every country (but still in English every time).
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
The DJ on a local radio station has been talking about an interview Dave Grohl did recently, where he said he feels Meg White is one of the greatest drummers of our generation, comparing her to Keith Moon and John Bonham. Is Dave Grohl trolling here? Or is there something about Meg White I don't know? Like maybe Dave Grohl turns into Meg White during a full Moon?

What were some of the names?
When I was on the way to a show on Saturday there was a sign that said, "In Canada, Skittles are called, 'Skittles.' " I was altered so it took me a minute to make sure that's really what it said................ Waste of advertisement if I say so myself.

Off of the top of my head, I remember Cool Ranch was called Cool American somewhere... This was like 05-06 so it's been a few years.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
5th time in two weeks that I've been able to get zero sleep. Last night I laid down at 9, but alas here I still am. Driving both The Hams and I crazy. I'm open to just about anything as both of us are tapped of solutions that obviously haven't helped. :-(

I've got a smile hangover from J. Mangum last night and then I come to the boards and see a brunch thread and a roo tu thread. I'm going to be smiling all day ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'm not going to make any assumptions of what you have tried. Just gonna list everything I can think of.
-no caffeine after 2pm -exercise daily, in the afternoon or morning -no alcohol at night. It interrupts REM sleep -don't keep your bedroom too hot. Colder is better for good sleep. Your body wants to lower its body temperature and rest. -make your bedroom a sanctuary for sleep. No TV watching or book reading in bed. It confuses the brain -lavender oil in a hot bath before bed. Or rub a small amount of oil, diluted with a carrier oil like sweet almond or jojoba, on to your temples before bed --chamomile tea. Make sure it is herbal only. Non-caffeinated --warm milk. Really works. --progressive relaxation. Lie in bed, in the dark, and start at the crown of your head and let your muscles melt with relaxation. Your face, your neck, your shoulders. Go slow. --melatonin. Over the counter supplement. Only start with 1/2 of a 1mg tablet and move up to 1mg. More is not better with this med. --meditation before bed.

Thank you LLL, I'll try the warm milk and or the tea and see if that helps. I'm not much of a caffeine fiend and am also that strange 25 year old who doesn't drink at all lol. Had the room at nearly 60• last night and still was sweating up a storm. Oh and how I desperately should start exercising... One step at a time. Thank you once again

Sometimes it's the little things that make me happy. Like Reckoner coming on just as the sun rises as I'm driving to Arkansas.
Reckoner is the one song that puts me right where I need to be. If I need to come back down to earth: Reckoner. If I need to get a moment of peace: Reckoner. If I need to escape the present moment for a second: Reckoner. I can FOCUS when Reckoner is on.

LLL gave some good tips. I just wanted to add some that I got from my sleep doctor.
-Try to get a routine going. The repetition helps your body acknowledge it's time for bed. -Get the room as dark as you can. -Get the room as quiet as you can.
I tried to argue the last two with her, but she said the light and noise can keep you from dropping off because part of your brain is going to automatically try to focus on the stimulus regardless of anything else.

I am the absolute worst about maintaining a routine, I'm still trying to figure out a way to darken the room, we've got a street light right outside our window and our curtains barely curtail it at all

I am the same. She was displeased when I said my average range of when I go to bed is anywhere between 9 and 12. If nothing else, it's good to set up a ritual, i.e. 30 minutes of reading a book, get the bed ready, brush teeth, get in bed. Anything that creates a pattern.
When I used to work midnight shift, my supervisor suggested buying a heavier, more expensive curtain since the cheaper ones are usually thin. Lacking that, he said to cover the window in aluminum foil, but I don't know if that's going a little far for you.
Edit: I remembered another one. She also suggested that you be on your bed as little as possible outside of sleeping. If you do activities there, i.e. reading and watching tv, that require you to be active, it lowers your mind's association that bed=sleepy time.
