We went out to dinner with the kids tonight. The topic of their wrestling nicknames came up. We let them pick.
7 year old - Knuckles 4 year old - Kick MaDick because he can kick you... in the stomach. The last name came about because it rhymes apparently. He had no idea why we were laughing.
I know you and Abra must of had to pick names too, what were they?
That was the next step but we were both doubled over laughing and never got to that part. I was trying to move on to better names before we entered target and he started screaming, "I'm Kick MaDick! GRRRR!"
has anyone done the name your own price a hotel on priceline? it scares me a little bit.
I just used it in Arkansas. I searched the area and the 3 star hotels, checked them all out to make sure they were good and booked it. Think the whole thing was around 60 bucks. I knew it was between 4 hotels and they all were great. I was very happy and will use it again. My aunt suggested it, she travels several days out of the month and loves it.
I've used it a few times so far - for hotels in Baltimore, Nashville, and Louisville. Every time I got some classy place (3.5 or above) for under 100 a night.
The good side of scheduling all my meetings on Thursday: I don't have to see or hear any of my clients for the other 6 days out of the week.
The bad side of scheduling all my meetings on Thursday: I have nothing to do but see or hear to my miserable, obnoxious and rude clients without the sanctum of music, internet, solitude (which I get in my office).
Side note: I might name my first born Kick MaDick.
I only used Priceline once when going to a show in Philly a few years back. Because I was also checking out grad schools, my mom said that she would pay for my hotel (Yeah, Mom!!) if it wasn't over a 100. So I Pricelined it. For about a week and a half I came up with no nicer hotels at that cost (I was advised to not settle). Then one day, POOF! A really nice room with a little living room area at the Sheraton in Center City for the 100 bucks. And the place ended up comping us their really nice breakfast buffet for no real reason. Winning.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Has anyone done a 401K rollover in any sort of way? If so, was it easy? I'm pretty stupid in terms of investing.
If you're rolling it over to your new 401K it isn't hard and it won't increase your taxable income, is that what you're looking to do? If so, your new company should be able to help you do this.

I believe I can do that. But I read that maybe I should just roll it over into an IRA? I don't really understand the pros/cons.
There's pro's/con's for both, depending on your financial situation. When I left my last job I actually just left the 401K with that company's broker because I didn't want to deal with the hassle.

Also, the hotel doesn't know how much you paid for the room. They don't give them that info. So you don't have to worry about them sticking you in the worst room since you only paid 1/2 of what other people pay.

It is a cool site. I added it to my favorites after seeing the awesome loft that was available for rent downtown in Boston last night. I might use it for ACL or SXSW one year. I just posted it here because of all the chatter about priceline and such.

^ Men's sweat: not a turn-on. Eeeewwwww. Men's deodorant: HUGE turn-on. IDK what's in that stuff, but it's the perfect aromatic blend of sexy and makes my knees go weak. Especially the sporty/outdoorsy scents. Mrrrroooowwwww.
Yeah. Maybe this should go in the "What's Your Thing?" thread. Speaking of which...that thread needs a bump!

I've been told that sweaty men aren't a turnoff so long as they don't smell like BO. I sweat a mixture of whiskey and Irish spring, so I hear my scent is delightful.

My inner dialog on homeschooling my 7 year old:
I cannot do this anymore. He is going to fall behind. I'm a failure at homeschooling. I must look into public and private schools in the area. Oh god, I can't afford that or subject him to that school. I HAVE to do this. Today was a good day. I can do this. Bad day. I cannot do this anymore. He is going...

repeat over and over
Abra, from what I've seen of your kiddos and the stories you tell about them, they both seem like extremely bright and curious (and hilarious) little fellows. I'm sure you're doing an amazing job teaching them.
It must feel like an enormous responsibility. Do they have any support systems for homeschool parents near you?
