athleisure leads the clothing market as the biggest trend, and it shows no signs of stopping - only growing.
accept leggings as pants now or prepare to be annoyed for the next 3-7+ years.
why do you think sales of brands like nike & lululemon are soaring with all time high brand loyalty, even against cheaper fast fashion competitors, while macys/nordstroms/sears, the limited, pac sun, abercrombie, gap, and on and on are all on the brink of completely shutting down?
And of course this asshole has to come in with all her marketing knowledge.
i'm surprised people are anti-athleisure, i thought everybody loved it.
i don't personally adhere to it myself, i'm more of a jeans/chinos and OCBD kind of guy, and when I'm actually working out I just wear some shitty shorts and a shitty t-shirt, but I know my wife loves her leggings and what not.

I 100% accept leggings as pants. If I am not wearing a dress or my weekend uniform, I wear leggings 98% of the time. They are absolutely pants. I just think they should be paired with an appropriate top if wearing them beyond simple errands.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The athleisure thing is easier and a lot more common for women, from what I have seen. Even when I was still on campus, it was mostly ladies in their yoga pants and t shirts. Dudes stuck to jeans and t shirts with a flannel or something.
Now I work downtown where nobody wears that stuff unless they are leaving the gym in the basement or they deliver for jimmy john's. everyone is in suits/skirts/trousers/dress shirts, etc. I work sort of in-between, where a suit and tie is too much, but chinos/khakis/jeans are for casual days. So like, trousers and dress shirts. I need to up my shirt and sport coat game...my closet is full of preppy chinos, polos, and OCBDs that I don't really wear anymore.
I personally don't understand wearing work out clothes when you aren't working out, but, eh. whatever. I wore a tie to school. I'm a snob and I know it.
Brah, you gotta take calories in in order to burn them!

It's just weird to me that people wear fitness attire as casual everyday clothing. I don't wear swimming trunks as casual shorts. I don't wear ski pants as regular pants. Why do people wear workout clothes as regular clothes?

check out Taylor Stitch, they are my most recent clothing obsession. Really great shirts. Not particularly dressy so it might not be what you are looking for, more of a casual-nice-workwear kind of feel. I'm trying to figure out how I would pull off the new Telegraph Suit they are funding for. I don't know what I'd do with it but it looks dope as shit. Looks like a good suit for importing/exporting fine art or designing buildings in Los Angeles.
For straight up dressy brooks brothers is having their 4 shirts for $199 sale right now, which they have a few times a year but it's their best sale on shirts. I live in their non-iron shirts in my office. Unfortunately they just wrapped up their sport coat/suiting Presidents day sale.

I dropped a bunch on BB right before I started. I'll check out taylor stitch, BB, even the slim fit, feels a bit boxy on me.
And non-iron stuff on shirts always makes my neck itchy. I hate it.

Anyone ever have any luck getting Adidas Ultra Boosts for less than retail price? A dude on the Coachella subreddit said he found some for $100, but that seems far too low/cheap.
I don't know how anyone wears them to festivals... the bathroom/port-a-potty logistics seem awful.
Seriously! I don't care how cute people think they are, I draw the line at having to get completely undressed to go to the bathroom. I'm not in diapers anymore. Mom & Dad aren't changing me. I'm not getting undressed to go pee.

i paid retail for both my pairs (navy and triplewhite). maybe you could find a pair for $100 in a less popular colorway/size? like on GOAT right now there is a pair of solar red UBs size 8.5 for $95. and they are used.

I'll check out GOAT, thanks! Have you used it before, and if so, would you recommend it?

I have not used GOAT, except for just browsing through it and checking out all the dope sneakers, but from what I understand it's 100% legit. Basically they take receipt of any shoes before they send them to you and verify authenticity, so you'll never get fakes.
FWIW UBs are super comfy, but they are also super lightweight and sock like, which is cool, but I find I prefer a more substantial/heavier sneaker. In other words I'm a 35 year old white guy who loves his New Balances.

That's good to hear. Just took a look and didn't see anything that crazy in terms of price saving.
Interesting, I just keep seeing people vouch for their comfort and I need new shoes for festival season and general quality of life.

I have three pairs of rompers (all black because fuck colors). I got one for this 70s disco party I went to once and I have never worn it since even though it is sexy as hell though with this super low drop neck thing. Then I have another one that I wear around the house during the summer because it is super soft and comfy and then the third one I got at a garage sale because I thought it was a dress. I could never wear them to festivals due to porta potties but I don't mind the having to take the top half off to go to the bathroom if I am wearing it out in public.
I also come from the era of body suits and wore them like a rock star in the 90s, so maybe that is why getting basically naked to pee doesn't really bother me.

They are definitely comfy, worked out well for me when I wore them at Day For Night. But that's all concrete, they might not fare as well in a muddier environment. The material is kind of porous and your feet might get all wet and yucky and what not. Just a thought though, I haven't tried them in that environment myself.

I remember having leotards as a kid. They were super uncomfortable because I have long proportions. So that's probably where my dislike of rompers started.
Same with denim jackets. I've started to hate them because I want one so bad. I've got wide shoulders and trying to find one that fits is a nightmare. Finding any type of jacket/blazer is a nightmare.

I have long limbs but a very short torso. Never had the uncomfortable issue with leotards. But the romper has to have a very distinct waistline or I look like a rectangle, so I totally get it. It sucks that you can't find jackets that you like on you, especially jean jackets...I have had mine for over a decade now and they are so in style right now. When we went to Angel Olsen EVERYBODY was wearing them. I seriously haven't seen that many jean jackets in one place since the 90s.

Started getting things organized for the move today. Driving down early in the morning to look at four different rentals. If all goes well we will be in agreement for a place and move in next week.
