I spatchcock it, apply a Memphis dry rub under the skin and smoke it for about 6-8 hours.
Pretty sure that's not a real word.
Personally I prefer to vagspazzle my turkeys. Deep fry and serve with Alabama bbq sauce.
You are incorrect, my fine friend.

No matter how late I'm up I'm always awake by 7:45. Anyone else have this problem?
Always. That's why I taught myself back in college not to stay up too late. I can never sleep in and "catch up," so I try to just never get too deprived. I also usually sleep pretty fitfully, so even when I am "sleeping", I am not really getting a good rest.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

John Lasseter, head of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios and director of Toy Story 1-2, Cars and A Bug's Life, will leave Disney for six months after sexual assault allegations come to light.
I'm really excited that Cap'n Mac and I are going to do a Thanksgiving today!!! Hopefully we can find a turkey. Doesn't have to big though because we're going to try a slow-cooker Turkey recipe. I've done it before, but it was with a really small 2-person butterball turkey so it worked really well. We'll see what we can find here.

Random thought I've had. Everyone has a band/act that they prefer or think does better with a "late night" set. Are there any acts you think do (or have done) a really job during the day?

Twin Peaks, Railroad Earth, Mavis Staples, Mac Demarco, Those Darlins (RIP Jessi), Hinds, Tedeschi Trucks Band, King Tuff, Margo Price, Ron Gallo.
During the day I want to listen to upbeat garage/surf, soul, or country.

My sister's wedding is on Friday and the groomsmen (I'm one of them) are all wearing the same thing: white shirt, black pants, red tie.
I did not have any of those things, so this week I went to Nordstrom to go get a shirt and pants tailored. Walking through there, I realized I have no goddamn sense of style.
I've been thinking of updating my wardrobe to be more than an amalgamation of t-shirts and two pairs of jeans for a while, but holy shit that was the kick in the ass.

Where do I start with something like that?
Not at Nordstroms, unless you want to blow a pay check or two.
i've been following a traveling dog rescue for a few years. i finally feel like i'm emotionally and financially prepared to responsibly have a pup, and their next trip is in my town (they only transport here twice a year). i've kind of fallen in love with one of the dogs from his pictures and video. only problem is, the transport is the weekend of day for night. someone please convince my fiance that he can pick up and take care of a dog by himself for almost a week until i'm home!

Blame my mother.
Well if Mom has a Nordstroms card, then go crazy. I recommend some tight hipster pants with tears at the knees. Maybe some Gucci tennis shoes. And do get a hat.

The shoes are a thorny issue because of my orthortics and stuff, although I can't actually wear my orthotics with the dress shoes I have right now.
I'm not a big fan of pants with tears in them, and this was more a general impetus rather than JUST going to Nordstroms.
We just went to Nordstroms for the tailoring (because my mom likes Nordstroms for some reason and I don't have enough knowledge to direct her elsewhere).

It really depends on the style you're going for. /r/malefashionadvice is a decent resource but I would recommend using that mostly for the basics. Don't take anything as the end all for fashion, because you should wear clothes that you like personally.
My main advice would be to wear clothes that fit you well. Too many people wear clothes that fit poorly.

This is exactly what I was going to post. Go to MFA to learn about fit and matching, and learn about new brands, but ultimately developing a style is a personal decision.
Find brands that fit you well and match your personal style and stick with them.

My boyfriend recently got his first Stitch Fix box. I’ve been using them for a few months myself to update my wardrobe and really enjoy it. He really liked his first box. Even if you only do one box, it’s a starting point. You put in your measurements/sizes and point them in the direction of you personal style. $20 per box, and that $20 goes towards the price of any item(s) you decide to keep.
Also, we both HATE shopping so it’s worth it for us.

UPDATE:
We were unable to find a whole turkey, so instead we got two giant turkey legs and are doing that with all the trimmings. I'm disappointed, but the legs are my favourite bit of the turkey, so oh well.

Thirding /r/malefashionadvice and selecting good fit over style every time. Next time you get something tailored go ahead and get all your measurements done. Knowing all your sizes makes online shopping a lot easier. And shopping online makes it easier to build a wardrobe affordably. My favorite places to shop are East Dane, J.Crew/J.Crew Factory, Scotch & Soda, Taylor Stitch, Pendleton, Carhartt, and Todd Snyder if you want to click through there for some ideas. Gap, Uniqlo, American Eagle, and quite frankly Abercrombie all have some good looking stuff that's a little more affordable if you don't want to pay Taylor Stitch prices.
Get your basics first and then add on more specific stuff tailored to the style of clothes you want to wear after that.
I know this one might be tricky for you but I say it's worth it to spend good money on shoes. You can get (and replace) a nice looking oxford from anywhere. But shoes need to last a long time and look good their whole life.
i did it! i obsessed over a dog so much that my fiance agreed to finally get one! i just finished the adoption application, and hopefully next month, this guy will be home with us!

Everyone so far has been really spot on, and 10goldbees and I apparently have really similar style.
If you're looking for dress shirts, check out both Charles tyrwhitt and t.m. lewin. They are both London shirtmakers and very good quality, better than dept. stores and j.crew factory by far, and I like them better than my j.crew and banana as well.
They also offer 4 different fits and post all the measurements for the different fits on their sites. Plus their sizing is slightly different among all the fits so you can find a shirt that fits well and needs minimal tailoring off the rack.
CT is having a sale right now too with shirts for 29.99,
Jesus. Be yourself. Nothing says fraud or poseur more than a guy looking “fashionable” in some overpriced, trendy and soon to be dated threads. Gone are the days when we laughed at people wearing name brand shit. I think Girbaud (sp?) was the brand that people started advertising on themselves. I’m more a Rolling Stones Flush The Fashion mf but I always look good anyway. Heh. Main thing most people who aren't color blind get is matching. You don't want to have red shorts, a green shirt and orange converses. I know that's elementary but still.
Here’s a turkey leg from tonight’s egg bowl to help you all see things for what they are.
