I'm sitting at the mechanic. My car has been making a hissing noise anytime I accelerate. Really hope it's nothing too serious. If it costs a lot I might have to bail on going to Osheaga.
Mechanic said to let it get worse? Wtf kinda shit is that... Makes me think its a small problem and he wants it to get bigger so he can charge more. Gonna wake up early and take it to another spot for second opinion.

Hissing on acceleration sounds like a vacuum issue. Depending on what system you could let it ride a bit. Did they give details? Need more input...

He gave no details. Total waste of time. All I know is it hisses whenever you accelerate. A buddy of mine said it was probably the timing belt and I'd either need to get a new strap or change the thing that rotates it.. But I don't really think he knows what he's talking about.

Yea while you may be due to replace the timing belt you will get no warning on that one...oh the blownup interference OHC motors that could have been saved if only.
If you are due to have that replaced then you should...also have them do the tensioner and water pump as well. Only a fool would not.
Of the 3 the water pump would be the likely candidate to make sounds...and you don't wanna wait on that one. But without hearing your car I would still say prob vacuum issue.
You are tracking getting another opinion...if the shade-tree wont tell you what is up then head on to the next. You want a solid relationship with your wrench turner if you drive older stuff.

Why am I so anxious about signing up for a beginners yoga class?
like cks said, it's something new. but go for it! they hold free yoga classes here all around the city throughout the summer and i've been going every week. i had never been to an actual yoga class before, and now i look forward to it every sunday. there are usually assistants walking around to help correct your form/poses so you're not hurting yourself. and everyone is so focused on their own practice that it feels judgment free.

I did a women's league last year. It was super fun!
Don't think any of my friends would be interested in doing it.. So that makes me a bit apprehensive. But I could use some new/better friends anyway.
I got recruited by a bunch of my retired derby teammates. I will give you a warning. It is extremely addictive. I know people that were like you, not sure if they wanted to join, whatever. Next thing you know, they are playing kickball three to five times a week. Summer leagues, winter leagues, Monday night pickups... seriously.

I am extremely uncoordinated, and feel like I might be hilariously awful at it and just embarrass myself and piss off the people who joined to actually be good or whatever. So that's a worry.

It's not like that. Usually, its like high school, and they pick teams. You will be pick last and you will be put out in left or right field. lol Most people play for fun, there are some super competitive teams out there, but I didn't find it like that. I think my team won maybe three games all summer. The reason so many people get addictive to it, is it is easy to pickup, the more you play the better you get, and you get to meet all sorts of new people.
Put yourself out there, it will be worth it, even if you only play this season. I really don't think that you will regret it at all.
