I'm sorry if I bring the vibe down in this thread but I figured this was the best place to post thoughts.
This is my brothers birthday today he would have been 14 today, no he didn't ever goto Bonnaroo with me but I just wanted to let you know in between the craziness and obsurdness that inforoo is you guys truly let me smile in these times Bonnaroo is apart of my life and I'm glad you crazy people can make me smile in the darkest of times.
Long story short is that inforoo has helped me deal with one of the worst things ever by talking about the best place ever. Thank You for letting me think about Bonnaroo all year round. Even though I haven't met any of you ( by knowledge) I feel good vibes among you and just wanted to thank you for all the good times I've come across and more to come.
awww. (((hugs))) johnny2towels!! I hope this hard day goes by quickly for you and I'm glad this place can help make it a little easier to deal with, even if it is just by making you giggle.
I applied for two jobs in Austin today. Just now. Like I literally submitted my resume and cover letter and came here to tell you guys. I'm not putting this in the yay! thread because it's not really a yay! at this point and we don't have a "nervous apprehension because what if I get it and I move and its the worst decision I've ever made. and oh yea, what about my current job. and my house. and what if they want me start super soon and I have no money saved up." thread. but hey, I applied for my first real life job as a [semi] college graduate. which is a yay!

Moving to Austin could never be a mistake. I've been throwing that idea around for three years now. For me, it's the only place that could compete with Nola. But it's hardto move and I get that. Fingers crossed, and bestest of luck!
Monie Austin is such a great city, ESPECIALLY if you're a music lover like yourself. Lived there for a year or two in college, would love to make it back.
so, G and I are moving from SC to Salt Lake City in 1.5 weeks... I'm going back and forth between excited (won't miss living in the land of camo and cotillion, looking forward to living a few blocks from downtown and being a block away from the light rail, G will be able to work from home), sad (will miss our friends SO terribly!!), and nervous (I'll be 36 weeks pregnant when we move- so about a month before I'm due, it's a 30-hour drive literally across the country, how are we ever going to pack up an entire house full of stuff and figure out what to take for a 2-bedroom apartment??)
my currently unmedicated ADD is not helping matters. I have a to-do list that's about 10 pages long but I don't even know where to start!

Yay and Boo to this. It's an exciting opportunity, but it's got to be scary as well. You'll get it handled. Don't worry.
Thanks for doing that 40+ date festival tour. I don't know if it was because you felt sentimental or if Big Boi was pushing you too hard, but I was very happy you went on tour. I would have been fine if you didn't but I'm glad you did. You and Darkside were the only two really enjoyable acts I saw at Lolla this year. However; everytime you talk about how much you hated touring and your heart wasn't in it, my memories of that show become a little tarnished. Don't make me feel bad because I and millions of other people wanted to see you perform. I hope you find happiness in whatever medium you choose to do next.

Seriously! At Life is Beautiful, they put on a great show, and he looked like he was having fun. But he was wearing a costume with a giant price tag hanging off of it that said "Sold Out" on one side. Kinda made me feel guilty about being there because I felt like I was having fun at his expense, which is a pretty substantial bummer.

He recently talked about his artshow that is going on, and that he had 20 outfits made for the tour (which are on display at that show), at Voodoo it read, I don't know what else to say. But he talks about why he did the jumpsuits and how it was his way of bringing something fresh to something old (OutKast's music). www.thefader.com/2014/12/03/andre-3000-art-show-jumpsuits-nicolas-jaar-interview

I was nervous when we came out west from Atlanta, and I didn't have the added stress of being pregnant. It's a big thing making a move like that. But one step at a time, things get done and it'll be over before you know it. I don't know much about the area, but it seems like I've heard good things about living there. Good luck with the move!

If you get to work for C3 you have to knock some sense into them after this past year's lineup!

I went to bar trivia last night. To show the state of our geographic knowledge, one of the final round questions was "Calgary is the the most populous city in what Canadian province?" I'm sorry to say, Boner, that I missed that one. Fortunately, I still got credit because I butchered the spelling of Saskatchewan so badly that he thought it was funny.

Some reason this post made me remember this article...

Being at the somewhat infamous weekend 1 Coachella show, his comments made me feel a little sad, but also a bit justified that there was something off with the performance and not the crowd (ahem, sang_xcx & Janelle Monae).
I hope that at least got what he needed financially out of the tour, so he can do what he pleases for the rest of his life.

I talked about this with a friend the other night. You gotta think that a headliner at a festival at least makes a million. 40 shows. 40 million. Probably travel, equipment, setup, ect. cost them lets say 10. Thats still 15 million for each of them. Those numbers might be questionable, but I'm sure he made more than enough to live comfortably for the foreseeable future.

Am I the only person that is reminded of penguins every time they see Molly Parker? Not just one penguin. Like an ever-morphing projection of penguins.

My friends tell me that the best way to take coffee is black. I've tried putting cream and sugar in it (yes, I've tried both separately too) and it just takes the fullness of the flavor out of it.
However, I find straight Arabica beans, or to be more simplistic, coffee where you have the fucking grounds in the cup (I mean seriously) way too bitter.

Monee--if you settle into the coolest city in Texas find room for one Weekend and we will paint that town RED!
Whoa now! You can't go turning Texas' little blue dot red. We have the whole rest of the state for that. Us tree hugging liberals need our place of sanctuary so we don't have to feel bad about the whole state.

Too true.
What's the worst part about Austin? It's surrounded by Texas.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Dont forget about Denton. We're over here banning fracking and stuff, no big deal.

Help!
First of all... don't have ground in your cup. That's gross. I agree with you that black coffee is the best.
If you want to get started exploring the beautiful, wonderful world of coffee get a good quality, burr grinder. Burr grinders will give you more consistency in your grounds and won't inadvertently heat your grounds like a blade grinder. Or so I've been told. I've never actually experimented with multiple types of grinders.
You should also get a simple pour over coffee drip device. All you do is put a filter in it, put the grounds in the filter and then catch the drippings in your cup. A lot of people like french press brewers which are also great but I've never messed with them. You might have had grounds in your cup because your coffee was made with a french press and the grounds were too fine.
Once you've got your gear then just buy high quality beans and start brewing. You'll figure out what your favorite flavors are really quickly. All the beans should have flavor descriptions on the labels. Don't worry about organic vs non-organic beans but do make sure to get direct trade or fair trade beans. You want to make sure your coffee wasn't harvested by slaves.
To answer your question more directly, Arabica coffee is one species of the coffee plant. There are a lot of different sub-groups of arabica beans. Arabica plants are typically preferred over robusta plants because they are more delicate and therefore require more sustainable farming practices. They also have a broader flavor spectrum and less caffeine. Again, I don't know all of this for myself. It's just what I've learned in my research.
If the coffee you have had is too bitter then maybe try something from Latin America? Costa Rican and Nicaraguan beans typically have light and fruity flavors.
Also tea. Never tried tea, but I've always wanted to try tea. What types of tea does Inforoo like?
HOLD.THE.MF'ING.TELEPHONE. Like, right now.
Hooowww is this even possible?!?! No, no... you must have. I simply refuse to believe otherwise. That's like saying you've never had Coca-Cola, or been to the movies, or left your hometown. It's a fundamental part of the human experience.
Orange pekoe. Darjeeling. English breakfast. Earl Grey. Chamomile. Rooibos. Oolong. Damiana. Puerh. Yerba mate. Green, black, white, herbal... nothing?! This boggles the damn mind. Go out and get yourself anything except the diabetic coma that Southerners call tea. Not tomorrow, not after breakfast... NOW!
