I bought tickets to see Fleetwood Mac in mid-April, and the show wasn't until the end of October. I forgot about it for months, except for when I was making plans and then looking at the calendar in my phone seeing I already had them.
I have tickets to see The Who... next October. I'm probably not going to be any kind of excited about it until the week before.
Thankfully you put those dates in your phone, right? That could have been a disaster. I responded to someone else mentioning The Stones ... Between them and The Who (which I hadn't considered in my original post) I could see excitement levels slightly higher as that is music I heard in the womb so has been with me much longer. And then you have to consider the odds of being able to again. Very interesting point you made.
How was Fleetwood Mac?
It was a good show, I really enjoyed it. Went through a good number of their hits, though I've never seen a show before that ended with several minutes of talking.
Ugh, I hate Christmas music. By far the worst part about this time of year. I can handle it when it's like a week or two before Christmas, but doing it any earlier (like right now!) drives me nuts.
it took me years to be able to listen to Christmas music after my traumatic experience as part of the "Singing Christmas Tree"... months of 3-4x weekly practices, being in the second highest row of a 40-ft tree, having an overheated lightbulb up against my polyester dicky and a resulting fear of catching on fire...
the opening notes of "Sleigh Ride" used to be enough to make me twitchy. I'm a little better now but really only listen to 2-3 Christmas songs voluntarily. and for the love, can they not wait until after Thanksgiving anymore? so gross.
edit: this was a couple of years before my performance, but close enough.
I went to the atheist version of church today. When I walked in they were singing Here Comes the Sun which set a nice vibe. The room it was held in is normally a dancehall where I once drunkenly spanked a dude's ass many times. Beer was being brewed in the next room over. So it's not exactly your typical church haha. The event was led by a cool, intelligent lady who'd bring people up to speak about their expertise, what inspired them that week, or something they learned. There was a tiny house expert who spoke about the tiny home dwellers he's interviewed. They even talked about Adult Swim haha. They did a little thing where you tell the people around you some small thing you're grateful for. It reminded me of giving the Sign of Peace (shaking hands) which was always my favorite part of Mass. If you're looking for the communal/song/reflective aspects of church without the religion maybe check it out. I didn't super love it and it tried too hard to be inspirational but it did give me some of the things I miss about Mass. Plus it didn't start until eleven which was pretty fucking awesome. I'm gonna check it out again next month and see how I feel after that.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

I think I tore the meniscus in my right knee. Woke up to it hurting a few days ago. Bearable, but there whenever I sit down/stand up. Also it pops when I stand up now. I want to go to the doctor and get it fixed, but in my laziness I also wish the problem would just go away. It's just bad enough to not be ignorable. Damn.
Anyway, started diving into the new Bob Dylan Bootleg 11. Sounds really good so far. I always liked the songs that came out of that era but hated the sound quality on the basement tapes originally. So far, this is much better.

Every time I curse my phone for refusing to detect the right word when I am using swype, I need to think of times like right now where I completely lost control of my thumb yet it still figured out my random gesturing to be the word I was thinking of.

Did you subject your knee to any kind of torsion which could have caused a tear?

Thanks for asking. Not particularly. But the pain was immediate upon waking, so perhaps I turned and stayed in a poor position in my sleep. I've had issues with the knee since I was a kid, and its always been ignorable enough to where I'd rest/walk it off until the pain went away, seems reckless in hindsight. But now, being in my mid-20s, this time the pain has seemed greater and potentially something that I should be more worried about.
However, I work for a physician group in Louisville and the advice I've received today was to buy a brace and ibuprofen for the swelling and see if that makes a significant difference before going to see a specialist. So I guess that's my first step and I'll see if I can walk it off (cautiously) again.

Swype is at blame for sending Titscraft to a coworker and not Tuesday
And that's at 6 in the evening! It's rough here. The only difference in Summer and Winter is that it doesn't rain much in the winter. And technically it is a bit cooler in the morning. During summer it's usuually in the 80s-90s at 7 AM. Now it doesn't get above 80 until... 8 AM..
Please don't mention Roo 2010. Those are memories I too don't want to relive. Except for LCD Soundsystem..
well it's officially winter in MN, 8"-12" coming in over the next 24 hrs. 20 min drive took 50 this morning, so exciting!
Thank you. I suddenly feel less depressed about it being in the 30's the next three days. (It was miraculously 71° today!! Though it was in the 40's yesterday.... Welcome to Ohio.)
