Just scored half priced Nick Cave tickets for next week off stubhub. Bam!
Also bought Simian Mobile Disco (live) tickets yesterday.
I really hated Nick Cave's recorded works (or whatever I heard in prep for Bonnaroo) - but they were actually really good when I saw them at Roo. Definitely the surprise set of the weekend for me
Upcoming shows in Columbus (all dates go from July-November. Exact dates can be found on promowest's website):

Go, & other people) Les Claypool's Duo De Twang Goo Goo Dolls Slightly Stoopid Fashion Meets Music Festival including: Paper Diamond, R. You're making a huge mistake if you don't see TWOD.

idk what was wrong with you before, but I'm glad you saw the light.

Neutral Milk Hotel / Circulatory System / Connections This is an incredible bill, and it's very unlikely that you'll ever have another chance to see NMH so I'd really recommend going. NMH is fantastic live too, both the band and crowd at Bonnaroo this year were exploding with energy The War on Drugs It's a $5 show and they put out one of the best albums of the year, it's a no-brainer Black Lips w/ King Khan & the BBQ Show Both very fun live bands, King Khan in particular was great at Bonnaroo this year St. Vincent Phenomenal live in every way, probably one of the best musicians of our time and her guitar playing is outrageously good live Interpol w/ Hundred Waters Great double bill here, I can say from recent experience that Hundred Waters are incredible live and have an awesome light show. Interpol seems to be pretty great live and their new material sounds like a great return to form for them after their last album
I'm considering half of these. Thoughts, opinions?

Since I'm pretty sure we ruled out Freefest being 9/20 this year, I can finally try and get Simian Mobile Disco tickets for the Cambridge date. September is gonna be a busy month concert wise and school wise
Just saw Fitz and the Tantrums are playing a few hours from me in Sept...got all excited till I saw the date. It's the same night that I'm catching diarrhea planet 10 minutes from my place =/

american aquarium thursday then merge 25 saturday. f*ck yes.
Against Me! Is coming to Nashville with Gaslight Anthem. I'm debating whether to see them or not. I love Gaslight and like Against Me!, but I'm worried it's going to be too loud for me.

Your profile says you're only 30. The "too loud" excuse is invalid. Go, hoping this was sarcasm.

What's with a lot of the artists skipping Nashville on their announced tour dates lately? Is it not one of the biggest music areas in the entire country?

Anyone in the philly area going to the following shows?
Jagwar Ma - 7/29 Jamie XX - 9/4 Pinback - 9/12 Rubblebuck - 9/18 Simian Mobile Disco - 9/19
I know some of these are off, but UT got some pretty sweet shows coming up, not sure if i can convince friends to all of these.
Considering 4 of these 5. Have never listened to Pinback, but I'll check em out. I haven't bought tix to any of them though. Just found out my GF will be working on Tuesday night, so Jagwar Ma is a bit up in the air.

Really jealous of anyone seeing Jagwar Ma. Boston for some reason is not in their schedule, and Philly is the hardest city for me to get to. Can't believe I've never been to Philly...

A saturated market isn't always where you want to spend your time. Yes it's Music City, but when there are numerous shows every night of the week, a lot of touring bands don't want to deal with that level of competition that will draw from their potential crowd. Plus since there's so much music here, the crowd may not get into the show as much as another town may...lots of arm-crossed crowd critics and I find myself guilty of this sometimes too.
