Ty playing Manipulator at Thalia vs Wavves playing King of the Beach at LH is an OOF

I’ll probably end up at the Melted show, but in general I’ll go with Ty Segall over the guy who had a very public Twitter meltdown over being called a landlord any day.

Details: Harrison is a co-founding member of Talking Heads, while Belew toured with the band in support of Remain In Light. The New Orleans date will be the first time the band and their guests will perform the album. Other performances will take place at Red Rocks on May 22, Bottlerock on May 24, Bonnaroo on June 12, Electric Forest on June 26, The Peach Music Festival on July 3 and FloydFest on July 24. The 90-minute sets will also feature other tunes from the Talking Heads catalog.
“Remain In Light and Talking Heads have been part of the soundtrack of our lives, and a huge inspiration to us as a band since day one,” explained Turkuaz frontman Dave Brandwein. “It’s certainly not every day you get a chance to collaborate with the very people who inspired you. These shows, and this chance to work with Jerry and Adrian is a dream come true. More than anything, all parties involved are excited to bring this music back to life, and back to the stage in a way that hasn’t been done for many years.”

I hope they get the whole 90 minutes at Roo, and also hope that we get to hear some shows on nugs net before Roo. I'm sure I'm gonna love this, no matter what tho.
Yeah. Roo is the 4th show, so hopefully some of it will either be out on Nugs or at least YouTube by then.
I set my calendar for 9:55 tomorrow to make sure I can get tickets for The Joy Theater's premier. A musician buddy of mine (plays in Egg Yolk Jubilee) who stays in touch with Belew said Belew told him he's super excited for this to get rolling. I also can't fucking believe Adrian just turned 70.

With only 7 shows and the explicit statement that they 90-minute sets, the setlist is gonna be the same for all shows and I'm fairly confident we'll get the full 90 at Roo. They wouldn't coordinate and put this all together just to agree to cut their show down to appease a festival. This news makes me think they'll probably end up being late night to accomodate.

This is perfect for the Hermosa/Manhattan Beach older crowd.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
