Daft Punk (for LN What, first offiical one. I don't include Kanye)
Why not? And what about Jay Z? Or phish?
I don't include kanye because he delayed his set to like 5 in the morning. If he started on time it would be a ln set. Jay-z got on around 11-1130. Kinda like this years headliners, so I don't call it a late night set. As far as Phish, I didn't know their ln show on Friday was on the What. Thought it was the which. But then again '09 was the one I missed.
I saw him at ultra. Love his LP but was soooo dissapointed live. He played more generic boring techno, not nearly as cool as his CD. I think maybe that was an attempt to appease the ultra crowd though. If he played stuff more like his CD I'd be very happy with him playing
thats so weird. He played his LP stuff only when I saw him... I would think he'd do the same at roo if he played, hopefully

Before I even read any of this thread, I'm gonna make my list. Then I'll go back and read it all.
Daft Punk/Radiohead (no sh!t) Gorillaz, M83, Animal Collective, Justice, Empire of the Sun, OFWGKTA, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Battles, Cut Copy, Explosions (please again as LN), Mars Volta (again) or Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Group, MSTRKRFT (again), Of Montreal, 36 Mafia, Portugal. the Man (also needs LN ), Man Man (same), Les Claypool, Aphex Twin, David Guetta, Black Joe Lewis, Tame Impala, Mum, D12, Yeasayer, Phantogram, Icy Demons, Leftfield, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Bloody Beetroots, The Octopus Project, Major Lazer.
That's all I got for now. Wow that was a lot more than I expected.
Passion Pit Crystal Castles Excision & Downlink (or seperate, doesnt matter) EOTO MSTRKRFT or DFA1979 (or both! im gonna lose my mind at camp bisco) Disco Biscuits thats all i'd really need. bring back pretty lights and sound tribe too, because i was screwed by my job this year and couldnt come :[
unfortunately again, thats still all he has. a stage show.
His mixing isn't interesting and he plays boring, easy, electro house music. Give me a mau5 head and I (or just about anyone else) could put on his show and nobody would know the difference.
He's just a very gimmicky performer.
Are there any hugely successful/popular DJs that you think are interesting?
I loved everyone at roo this year. Just because I don't like one hugely popular dj doesn't mean I don't like them all. Deadma5 show was great the first time I saw it at bonnaroo, but I saw it again (literally EXACT same show except for the last song, his dumb attempt at dubstep) at voodoo fest and just wasn't impressed. It also helped that I was really fucked up at bonnaroo. His set at ultra was also the same except for the live sofi and tommy lee part (gimmicky).
I just don't think what he (or any electro house dj) does is really that amazing. Every song is the same electro bass and honestly half his music isn't even worth listening to. It also doesn't help that he's kind of just an asshole.

Yeah, a Modest Mouse return would be pretty cool, and it could happen if they ever drop that album they've been supposedly working on for forever. Maybe Big Boi will get them to hurry up. I've heard that Brock is hit-or-miss with his live shows though, so giving them a prime Late Night spot could be risky.
I'd love to see Modest Mouse. I heard they weren't that great last time they were at Roo, but that was in 2005 - it's time to give them another chance. That said, I would be very surprised if they were a late night - Which closer seems far more likely.

This is exactly how I feel about him. The first time I saw him I was blown away with his show. Then I saw him again at Ultra, and quite frankly I was bored. It was the exact same thing. With a new setup I'd be open to seeing him again. But, as I've already said I feel like he'd be a huge waste of such a high profile slot I really have no interest in seeing him on the lineup
tDB (The Disco Biscuits) have been playing bonnaroo every other year since the beginning. They should def. be a shoe in for a latenight (probably the last band playing) next year. w/ that being said..

How have we got 4 pages without anyone mentioning Dan Deacon?!
Look at this shit!
Still the best show I've ever seen. He was so good I couldn't even get into Deadmau5 afterward. He just absolutely fucking killed it.
Yeasayer was the same way in '09, they made MGMT look straight up bad.
also, 2manyDjs Klaxons THE RAPTURE! They got a new album comin out, I got my fuckin hopes up for this one Wolf Parade Foster the People on Thursday LOCAL NATIVES god damn they put on a good show !!! would be awesome but with the crowd they got this year I don't think they're big enough
god i'm way too excited about bonnaroo for it to be 12 months away

I'd love for a Dan Deacon return! And I understand the complaints about Deadmau5 playing the same show a lot, but if you haven't seen it before then it's a fun time, especially with a new set up. (Neither here nor there, but I also love his facebook page. He's a funny dude.)
I'd love for the National to come back and get a LN spot. They were one of my favorite sets of 2010 and I think they could put on a beautiful late night show.

I second this! Although I feel like they've been on tour forever and have to take a break eventually.

YES! LN Which would be a great slot for them. Oh and whoever listed the Antlers, YES to that as well. I am loving the new album.

Iggy Pop & the Stooges for late night
MAKE THIS HAPPEN BONNAROO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They played at Vegoose when I was there, so AC has the ties. That would rule to see late night.
Overall I just hope we get some variety with LN this year. I'd love to see a few traditional style rock groups. Those usually end up being highlights of the festival. The one that really comes to mind is Phoenix in 2009, but there have been others. I guess the Black Angels this year are also a good example.
Panda Bear Animal Collective Daft Punk (main stage) Sigur Ros My Bloody Valentine (I guarantee this would go down in Roo history as one of the greatest, face-melting sets)
This. If we could get either Daft Punk or MBV I could die and go to heaven. It's just such a rarity that they tour. Like seeing a unicorn or something. I was lucky enough to see MBV in Dallas in 2009 (one of five US dates) and it was easily one of the top five shows I've ever been to. My ears were ringing for about four days afterward. It was awesome.
What I want most is a 4-hour late night show from the Roots, where they have multiple guests and sections. Say, bring out Ghost & Rae for the first hour and do cuts from OB4CL, Ironman, etc. Then do a few Roots joints, then bring out Nas and back him like they did at the Roots picnic, then finish off with an hour or so of Roots' material. This needs to happen.
Statements like this are the reason you are the reigning King of Inforoo Juggs.
