Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I guess let me clarify. Jay-z headlined coachella in a year where Muse and Gorillaz where the top 3 and a year when Glastonbury headliners were KoL and The Verve. So Jay-z can headline in a weak year for touring artist but in year like this one he wouldnt come close to being at the top of even Jazz Fest? There are very very few artist that would headline over Radiohead that are currently touring.
Dude.. Muse and Gorillaz at Coachella is NOT a weak year. Those are AMAZING headliners.
And The Verve are gigantic in UK so they are a very big headliner for Glasto.
If Muse was annouced to headline Bonnaroo the collective sigh would knock inforoo offline for 3 days. Gorillaz is arguable but way more for its rarity than for its quality.
Also, I'd like to point out that as far back as LAST YEAR (even before the lineup drop last year), RHCP drummer Chad Smith was hinting in interviews at RHCP being booked by Bonnaroo. Guy must really not be able to keep his mouth shut. We all assumed that meant for a 2011 appearance, maybe it was for a 2012 appearance.
Not to mention that THE MOM ON A TRAIN LIVES.
(All that being said, I do think it's just a strange coincidence that all three of these bands were heavily rumored last year and all ended up there this year. I don't think they nail down even the headliners 100% that early.)
They don't nail them down but I'm sure they continually work on getting them. I wouldn't be surprised if they're already planning out/talking to bands for the 2013 headliners.
Oh yeah, I definitely agree that they start conversations that early.
Everything points to them playing Saturday. Saturday is most commonly for the #1.
There is one advantage to RHCP being #1. They have to be one of the cheapest #1's since 2005. That implies more cash for the under card
I don't think they will play Saturday. They feel like a Friday band to me, and I don't care how many days they will have played in a row to do so. You guys sure did lose the faith on Radiohead real quick. I still think they will be there.
Yes, I am patting myself on the back here, and I don't care how much the rest of you look down on me for doing so. I say those who lost the faith after RHCP were revealed should be banned from the pit for the Radiohead show.

I was just thinking. Even with us being more accurate with our headliner guesses this year (insider said this in one of her posts), does it seem like she put out more information noticeably earlier this year? Could this mean the initial line-up will be more towards the beginning of February rather than mid or am I just reading too much into things in my radiohead euphoria?

with it being rumored that phish is releasing dates on the 7th(a tuesday, which has been a normal day for roo announcements) i guess we could see roo lineup out that day too. im still leaning towards second week though.
no... Radiohead*Katy Perry*RHCP*Phish... there i fixed it for you
Is it wrong that I wouldn't be upset for that? ...no? Well is it wrong that I'd wait in line to be in the pit so I could be as close as possible to Katy Perry
I'm gonna keep the dream alive though and say Radiohead * Black Sabbath * RHCP * Phish

hope your right cause i don't have my money together yet haha. how long you think till it sells out this year. it took forever last year. should be quicker this year right?
Have Foo Fighters been ruled out of being at Roo this year?
No, but most people think that they won't be there because they're too similar to RHCP. If the Foos were the 4th band though, I would be absolutely thrilled.

im not gonna lie... i love katy perry on a musical, emotional, and spiritual level... its kinda gay

It's looking that way. Nothing is 100% official until we have the lineup from Bonnaroo but if we believe Insider (which I will until she's wrong) then it's looking like Radiohead and Red Hot Chilli Peppers are in, not Foo.
Radiohead 30 million albums vs. Red Hot Chili Peppers 70 million albums.
RHCP gets Saturday night.
Oh, the record sales argument. So Mariah Carey would headline over Pink Floyd?
RHCP have never played Roo.

They are the bigger band.
Red Hot Chili Peppers – singer Anthony Kiedis, bass player Flea, drummer Chad Smith and new guitarist Josh Klinghoffer – will join the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, Oasis and Genesis as headliners of the iconic rock venue. (Knebworth)

just do the payment plan, its how i usually do it. and honestly, im not sure how quickly it will sell out. it depends on how the rest of the lineup sells out. it might not be as big commercially as it was last year, but im sure it will still sell out. ill prob do payment plan on the day they go on sale, no need to take chances.

Seems much more simple when lil wayne dosnt mess with the scheduling so much dosnt it?

Really, you shouldn't worry about them selling out fast. They didn't sell out until May 14th last year. It's an awesome set of headliners, but I don't see it selling out in a fraction of the time of last year.

It's not gay unless the tips touch... ET is a badass song. There's no shame in admitting it

i've done the payment plan twice and bought mine last year in one shot. i liked doing in one shot way more. way less stressful. i will be buying day one regardless of pretty much anything though. nothing can keep me from roo at this point

robbie williams has headlined knebworth. not taking away from him as a musician just saying you dont have to be zeppelin or pink floyd to play there

WOW! just got back home and saw the news! i can't believe it. i guess we're just supposed to assume she meant Radiohead...still wish i knew for sure but this is still pretty good!
don't worry someone tried to crush my radiohead dreams in another thread but look how that turned out! but i really don't think food and rhcp will be there, nothing is impossible though
