Let me preface this by saying I am a huge Allman Bros. fan. I've seen them probably more than any other single act. I catch them at least once whenever they play the Beacon in NYC, usually twice. The first concert that made me go "....whoa, I love this" was Allman Bros. opening for Tom Petty (they stole the show, btw, and it wasn't even close) at SPAC in upstate NY. Haynes and Trucks literally opened up worlds I hadn't really known existed with ridiculous solos.
That being said, be careful what you wish for. Greg can rarely pull it together to sing for more than a few songs the last few times I've seen him. I mean, if you don't see them often, a 45 minute Mountain Jam is cool, but when they do it every show to fill in time because Greg can't sing, it's kind of upsetting.
But even with that warning, an Allman Bros. set has incredible potential, especially if its on right before Phish.
YES
It looks like they'll be active next year...Beacon + Wannee. They had to cancel in 2008, so why not this year? Allmans -> Phish would be fucking incredible.
I think it is fair to say most people on the board just want her to eliminate one of the two, after that I don't really care to know anything else until lineup day
Insider, how many of the "prime time" acts are listed below
Radiohead RHCP The Beach Boys The Raconteurs Foo Fighters Pixies The Shins Bon Iver Paul McCartney Lady Gaga Prince
I don't like the idea of this as a question for insider as she could just respond with: "Two" which would leave us exactly where we stand.
And if I had to guess how many from this list, it would be two at the very most.
EDIT: Didn't see Bon Iver there, don't think he should be on the list, although I do want him and think he will come this year.
maybe it's just because i feel i'm like the biggest bon iver fan on the planet, but i think they're a shoe-in this year. if not this year, next year. they're just so much bigger than the last time they played. i believe justin and company will be among the biggest and dirtiest festival whores this year. honestly, if bon iver were the only band playing, i'd still make the 5 1/2 drive to manchester.

I suspect we're getting Radiohead, I really do. Last year it was kinda this way when she gave us the hints for Eminem but not his name, and the consensus was that the answer to her hints was Eminem.
So if we're all suspecting that it's Radiohead since she wouldn't tease a band so much that we'd be largely disappointed by (and since I believe she was working with the last of four from earlier, thus narrowing the choices down to RHCP and Radiohead), it's probably Radiohead. I know that's flimsy logic, but that's going to hold me over until insider posts again so that I can maintain my sanity. Could be another couple weeks before she posts again.
Just to reiterate a previous point (because let's be real here, guys, we are going to continue to spin in circles for the next three weeks), this is, after all, the Bonnaroo Headliners Prediction Thread. If insider posts in this thread, it is because she is making a statement about one of the headliners/pre-headliners. That means she should only be making comments in this thread if its about the top 6 bands. Unfortunately, that does not eliminate many of our guesses. Stream of consciousness post.

Anyone think this "R" band could actually be Roger Daltrey performing Tommy? Eh, maybe not. I just noticed his name on the Bryon Blues Fest lineup. Forget that. I'm going back to my previous guess of Radiohead.
