What is the average distance between a VIP camp site and the water station? What is the maximum distance? I have camped GA in the past and know that it can be quite a hike. I assume it is closer in VIP. Is that true? I ask because I want to bring a pool and a 250 ft hose.
Depending on where your site (tent or RV) is you could be within that 250'.
But please leave the pool at home. No one wants to have their campsite flooded out when the pool spills over or someone thinks its would be a great idea to dump someone out of it. There is much to see and do without sitting in a kiddie pool .
I figured that in the VIP section, attendees would overall be more respectful and not intentionally spill the pool or anything disruptive. I'm just thinking 10' x 10' x 2'. Obviously, that is still a lot of water, but I don't think it would lead to campsite flooding. I should mention I am in RV camping, so we should have more space and people won't be sleeping in tents on the ground near us. That sun will dry up anything in a heartbeat too. I understand your concern, but 9am - noon in a pool under a canopy sounds great to me. Others thoughts? The last thing I want to do is piss off neighbors.
The pool water will heat up fast, I'm sure. But in the morning, it should be cooler than atmospheric temperature. The body also disipates heat faster in water than in air.
I am confident in my ability to keep the pool water in the pool until the festival is over. I'm usually one of the last to leave. Using the aforementioned hose, I can control the disposal point too.
RV camping and Tent camping should be separate. They have always been in my experience. You can't mix generators for RVs and tent campers. It's a safety hazard. So the worst case scenario in my mind is, the pool is unpleasantly hot and it spills. The water reaches nearby RV campers and the ground is wet for an hour or so.
Am I unreasonably fascinated by the pool idea? I guess so...
