Its sort of crazy how well the schedule works out for me, I will get to see atleast an hour of all of my must sees and the only conflict that really hurts is the Robert Plant vs. Strokes vs. Explsions vs. Beirus vs. Superjam, but I can live with that.
Thursday Freelance Whales>Best Coast>Band of Skulls>Sleigh Bells>Deerhunter
Saturday Black Joe Lewis>Old Crow Medicine Show>Deer Tick>Alison Krauss>Portugal The Man>Mumford and Sons>Black Keys>Buffalo Springfield>Eminem>String Cheese>Gogol>STS9
Sunday Railroad Earth>Bruce Hornsby>Galactic>Iron and Wine>Robert Plant>The Strokes>WSP
This is my first time at roo. I'm used to set times that are strict. Is it common for bands closing the main stage to play later?
Daytime shows usually stick pretty firm to the schedule. Headliners often play longer than alloted. Latenights a pretty flexible; sometimes they wrap up early (Superjam 07 comes to mind) sometimes the go till dawn.

At first glance, my schedule might end up looking like this:
Thursday Wavves -- The Knux -- J. Cole -- Sleigh Bells -- Deerhunter
Friday Matt & Kim -- The Decemberists -- MMJ -- Arcade Fire -- Big Boi -- Ratatat
Saturday Donald Glover -- Wiz Khalifa -- The Black Keys -- Buffalo Springfield -- Girl Talk
Sunday Robyn -- The Strokes
I still have to do some more research to fill in a few gaps, and the people I'm going with sound like they want to catch at least part of Lil' Wayne's show, so we'll see how it ends up in a month.

I feel like posting this is kind of silly because very few people will read it, but it makes me feel better. I know that I have trouble reading more than one or two of other people's schedules in a row before it all starts blending together.
THURSDAY (I won't be there, but I made it anyway):
6:00-7:00 Wavves > 7:00-8:00 School of Seven Bells > 8:00-8:15 Best Coast > 8:15-8:30 The Knux > 8:45-9:45 The Drums > 10:00-10:30 The Walkmen > 10:30-11:30 Twin Shadow (Sleigh Bells is underwhelming live and I've already seen them so I would live missing them) > 11:30-11:45 Deerhunter > 11:45-1:00 Beats Antique > 1-4 Jared Dietch. I might also check out MiniBoone in there. It would also suck to miss Dam-Funk & Master Blazter, but missing all of Thursday is worse :/
FRIDAY:
12:15-1:15 Jessice Lea Mayfield (if I make it to Roo by then) > 2:00-2:30 Bela Fleck > 2:30-2:45 Jovanotti (Sonic) > 3:15-4:00 Grace Potter > 4:00-5:00 Abigail Washburn > 5:00-5:45 Atmosphere > 5:45-6:15 Bela Fleck (Sonic) > 6:15-6:30 The Decemberists > 6:45-7:45 Florence > 7:45-8:15 NOFX (still not sure exactly how I'll split that one up) > 8:15-9:00 MMJ > 9:00-10:45 Primus > 11:00-12:30 Arcade Fire > 12:30-1:30 Black Angels > 1:30-2:30 Big Boi/ Lil Wayne split, maybe Bassnectar a bit, too > 2:30-4:00 Ratatat > hopefully catching the end of Shpongle > DJ Logic. Damn, that's a long day! I really don't see anywhere to take a break, though. Perhaps Grace Potter/Abigail Washburn?
SATURDAY:
12:30-1:30 Black Joe Lewis > 1:30-2:00 Abigal Washburn (Sonic) > 2:00-2:30 OCMS (unless I get talked into seeing Hanggai) > 2:30-3:45 Donald Glover (suchs to miss Deer Tick, but eh) > 3:45-4:15 Jovanotti > 4:15-5:00 Alison Krauss > 5:00-5:15 Portugal. the Man > ???? Man Man/P.tM/Omar Souleyman ???? > 6:30-7:00 Wiz Khalifa > a bit of Mumford > 7:15-7:45 Devotchka > 8:00-9:15 Black Keys > 9:30-11:00 Buffalo Springfield > 11:00-12:30 Eminem > a bit of Fine Peduncle (he's an acquaintance of mine) > 12:45-2:00 Dr. John/Meters (a bit of Bootsy perhaps?) > 2:15-2:30 Gogol > 2:30- 4:00 Girl Talk > 4:00-end STS9 > Motion Potion. Wow. I may through Fences and the Rock the Earth Abigail & Hanggai in there.
SUNDAY:
12:00-12:30 Railroad Earth > 12:30-1:00 Smith Westerns > 1:00-2:15 League Live or Fences > ? > 3:30-4:00 Daniel Lanois's Black Dub > 4:00-4:30 Galactic > 4:30-5:30 Iron & Wine > 5:30-6:00 Gregg Allman > Beirut/Explosions/Superjam?????? That decision can't be made until about 6:00 that Sunday.
Despite the fact that no one will read much of that or digest it, it helps me to actually type it all out!

I dunno if I'd say that it's "often" that 'Roo headliners play longer than they are scheduled. I know in '07 The Police played way shorter, I think Tool played just a bit short (might be rememberin' that wrong), '09 I think Bruce was just a bit short, '10 Kings Of Leon were definitely short, and Stevie showed up late (still a great show though!). In '08 I know Pearl Jam played over, but I can't comment on WSP's appearances since I started goin' in 2007. Nor any Sunday headliner (although I do have a boot of DMB from last year that's decent) at all. The latenights though I completely agree. Sometimes they end at the scheduled time, sometimes they just continue the dance party.

Thursday:
Any act (no really, I'm up for anything) > Wavves > Best Coast > Band of Skulls > Sleigh Bells (sorry Walkmen) > Deerhunter
Friday:
Kylesa > Matt & Kim > Opeth/Decemberists (leaning towards Opeth) > Florence + the Machine > MMJ/Primus (leaving Florence early most likely > Big Boi > Ratatat
Saturday:
I'll chill/see random acts until Portugal. The Man > Mumford & Sons > Black Keys > Buffalo Springfield > Eminem > not sure yet (likely Dr. John?) > Girl Talk
Sunday:
Smith Westerns > Neon Trees > Gregory Brothers > Iron & Wine/Gregg Allman/Robyn > Strokes/Explosions/Superjam/Beirut (but seriously, whose idea was it to put them all together?!) > Widespread Panic
Friday - Bela Fleck and the Original Flecktones - Greensky Bluegrass (from Kalamazoo!) - Warren Haynes Band / Matt & Kim - Atmosphere - campsite break - My Morning Jacket (must see) - Wander around centeroo...watch Arcade Fire from the ferris wheel - Bassnectar / Big Boi / Black Angels - Pretty Lights (must see) - Ratatat
Saturday - Deer Tick - Portugal.the Man (must see) - Mumford and Sons - Black Keys (must see) - Buffalo Springfield (must see) - Eminem (must see) - Mayyyybe Bootsy - Dr. John, Allen Toussaint, and the Meters (must see) - String Cheese Incident - Girl Talk / Sound Tribe / Gogol Bordello
Sunday - Galactic - Gregg Allman - Superjam ft. Dan Auerbach and Dr. John (must see) - Widespread Panic (must see)
I'm very pleased with how the schedule turned out. I get to see all of my "must sees," with the only bothersome aspect being Desitively Bonnaroo at the same times as Bootsy. The late nights are oddly stacked, but I'm cool with it. I will definitely see Pretty Lights. It's just a matter of what I do beforehand - how long I stay at Bassnectar, if I see Big Boi, and if I decide to skip both of those to see Black Angels and get a good spot for PL. I'm really looking forward to Saturday late night because after Dr. John, I get to wander around without stressing about missing anything. I'm totally cool with concert hopping between STS9, String Cheese, Girl Talk, and Gogol Bordello.

Debating weather too skip Mumford to see The Black Keys from the pit. I think from the pit it would be that much better.
From there I could try to get a decent spot for Buffalo Springfield and catch a few songs only to leave early and try to get pit for Em or a good spot in general.
Somone posted somewhere that if you walk to the left side of the What stage it is less packed so you can get a good spot.
If I cant get into the pit line for Eminem i'll try that

if u do put for the keys, and stay for the whole set you will be nowhere close for BS. it takes awhile to get out of the pit usually.
