trying to get into bjork and somewhat overwhelmed by the size of her discography. any fans want to set me in the right direction with some starter recommendations?
First album I got into was Volta…….then Debut……….and whatever album all is full of love is on (PostModern maybe….can't remember and too lazy to look it up)
Saw her live at coachella 2007…..one of the best shows I've seen probably

Long time Bjork fan saw her at Austin City Limits 2007...amazing! By far the best show I have ever seen camped out front row for hours!!!! My fav albums are: Telegram (all delicious remixes of her songs off Post) Debut(super fun dance beats) fav. songs: There's more to life than this Big Time Sensuality Violently Happy Post(more serious than Debut, but still some great beats) fav. songs: Army Of Me Hyper-Ballad Enjoy Isobel Homogenic (post breakup album, it's a bit angry and a lot wonderful) fav. songs Joga Bachelorette Unravel Alarm Call Vespertine(perfect winter time listen, very chill album) fav. songs: It's not up to you Pagan Poetry Aurora Heirloom Enjoy!!! And thanks for posting this it sent me on a search for all my favorite Bjork albums and songs that I had not listened to in a long time!
All of her albums have a distinct flavor to them, so you might be well off to pick up her greatest hits and go from there. It came out before Volta, but download Earth Intruders from that album to get a feel for it. Vespertine is one of the most beautiful collections of music I've ever heard, but it might be too quiet and delicate for some. Homogenic is also near flawless... yeah, just grab the greatest hits.

I like Homogenic, followed by post and The Greatest Hits is great also. Her newer stuff has a complete change of style, but that's what she does.
As surprising as it may seem, Bjork at Coachella was one of the worst trash compacted crowds I have ever been a part of. As soon as Interpol ended, people kept pushing forward more and more until no one could move anymore. The only way out was crowdsurfing and people were fainting left and right from heat exhaustion. I had half a bottle of water and made it through, but it was 100 degrees + outside that day. The show was phenomenal for sure, but I pick her ACL show over that one since I was with friends up close and it wasn't insane trying to stay hydrated. Definitely in my top 10 shows ever though.
