Personally I think that the lineup is lacking in reggae acts. I would love to have a few more reggae acts to chill out to in the hot afternoons. Ziggy Marley in 07' was great afternoon chilling music
The Black Keys just announced they are playing Indianapolis the Friday of Roo with Booker T and Nicole Atkins.
05-22 Mobile, AL - The Hangout Festival 06-10 Indianapolis, IN - The Lawn at White River State Park 06-11 Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo 06-27 Vancouver, British Columbia - Deer Lake Park
Possible Bonnaroo books Booker T ... with a new solo record coming out?

lonely island makes a lot of sense. not a huge fan, but i could see it happening. that or colbert.
im not too upset with the electronic acts, but it basically is a re-hash of last year. they really need an act that hasnt been there before. justice maybe? fatboy slim could definitely work too. whats the status of the quad city dj's? still touring?? how about c&c music factory? haddaway? black box?

why does it make a lot of sense? I'd like to see it happen but they don't tour or do live shows of their material. it'd be cool but I don't see how it makes a lot of sense

If we get a Lunar Stage DJ lineup this year, expect Skrillex to be on it. If you dont know who that is, familiarize yourself. You'll thank me later
Dude, no.
Dude, thanks. If you don't know who that is, keep it that way. You'll thank me later. Unless you enjoy scene kids and scene music...but then again this probably isn't your festival anyway.

imho, skrillex is pretty dope. way better to play scene music than to play top 40 mashup like Girl Talk. at least Skrillex is using the technology better. he'll be big and everyone will like him when he has a flashy stage show in a year or two. He's buddies with Joel Zimmerman so it's bound to happen.

Skrillex fans would use the word "dope" to describe something they feel is good.

hey all,
first time poster here; I just wanted to say im stoked to be going back to the roo again this year but im puzzled at the lack of reggae. I'm really hoping for a late addition of toots and the maytals. The guy is a straight up legend.
Another band i'm really pulling for...big gigantic. with sts9 there i can definitely see them playing a thursday night show.

Using the technology better? He makes crappy electro-dubstep, Girl talk makes mashups. It's not really the same technology, and they're no where near close enough alike to compare how they use it.
If you wana hear ridiculous wobble music, go see someone like rusko. If you wana hear electro shit, go see someone like wolfgang. But skrillex is just like a crappy mash-up of the worst parts of both of them.
He's only going to get big and people because his with deadmau5, and everyone thinks deadmau5 is like a god in the electro scene. Dont get me wrong, i like mau5. His show was awesome last year. But people ride him way to hard. A flashy stage show doesn't make you good, it kinda just makes you popular (deadmau5).

Kris Myers told my friend that Umphrey's won't be at Bonnaroo this year, so you guys can stop wishing for them. I think several other people have confirmed this from the band too. They play the even-numbered years.

Given their schedule (and the fact that they're looking to play festivals again this summer) TV on the Radio would not surprise me at all, in which case they would be a pretty big add, as far as adds go. If I remember right they closed the Which one day last year, after both Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Animal Collective (both of which I felt deserved to play a later than they did...). I'm not sure where TVotR would fit into an already top-heavy lineup, though. Maybe a late night? I can see them playing a late night alongside maybe Big Boi and Wiz Khalifa, even though TVotR isn't hip hop.
Personally I think that the lineup is lacking in reggae acts. I would love to have a few more reggae acts to chill out to in the hot afternoons. Ziggy Marley in 07' was great afternoon chilling music
Shoot I didn't even think about this. This year's lineup is the first in at least 3-4 years that a member of the Marley family isn't playing.

BRING BACK ZIGGY!!!
If I had my choice of Marley (and I don't) I'd definitely pick Ziggy. He was a great show at Life Is Good last summer.
Also... any word on what the blank "expected" act on CoS was?

I should point out that I don't think skrillex is THAT good. just fun. But I think fun is an important part of techno. As far as the rest I agree with you.
This is a silly argument. Skrillex, Girl Talk and Deadmaus are all pretty terrible.
Girl Talk and deadmau5 aren't terrible at all. Your talking about probably THE 2 biggest names in electronic music right now. If you don't like mash-ups thats one thing, but to call girltalk terrible is just pretty dumb. As far as mash-up artists go, girl talk is at the top (there really is no argument about this, name one other mashup dj that plays as many shows and has as much hype as him). There was a lot of hate for All Day that i just couldn't understand. Show me one other mashup album that is better that isn't by girltalk.
