Yes, I can. In my opinion, that performance was bad. In fact, I don't know how any adult could still like his misogynistic, homophobic, violent, angsty nonsense. It's understandable to like something like what he does when you're a confused adolescent, but it's just silly to like as an adult in my opinion.
You sound mad.
I'm not even a real fan of Em's, but his lyrical content has obviously changed. And what exactly about that performance was bad? I thought it had good energy. His delivery was solid, clear vocals, breathing wasn't out of whack. So what was it?
Nah, I'm not mad. I just strongly dislike Eminem. His lyrical content hasn't changed that much, his hit song with Rihanna is still more or less about spousal abuse (and not in a "positive message" kinda way).
I just think he relies to heavily on his faux-angriness. He's not seventeen years old, so that kind of angst without purpose is just kind of silly to me. I was not into the performance.

A large part of music is angry. Some not as aggressive as Eminem per se. But without angry music, however faux it is, there would be a lot of music we would have missed out on. And you could say he doesn't have reason for angst now, but it would be naive to say he didn't have reason earlier in his career. Most artists maintain the motivation for their song writing throughout their careers, regardless if its angry or not.
I like ya, approo, so I don't want to get into it, but I'm not a fan of Eminem's and I think he is an immature guy (and that it shows through on his lyrical content and delivery). That's just what I think of him.

that skit is actually pretty funny.
yes, eminem raps about killing women a lot. oh noes. hes been doing it for over a decade now and its quite clear that he does not actually intend to do anything he raps about. its anger and as Ive said before hes found a healthy way to vent it. the level of violence, brutality, hate, and prejudice he brings is what makes him stand out in hip hop. in a sea of people talking about toting guns, Eminem creates an atmosphere of abomination most rappers wish they could touch and he does it with such unique artistic ability that it puts him above what most people even dreamed the idea of "gangster rap" could be. Not that actually raps in that style, its just that he brings such an unparalleled level of undiscriminated hate and anger to his lyrics while still being so god damn creative with it that it is quite frankly mind blowing that someone so vulgar and discriminating can be so intelligent and eloquent
Saying it is likely to be a hip-hop headliner =\= Dre/Em
We've been over this dozens of times, but there aren't really any other options.
Gorillaz is up in the air, but seems unlikely as we have no word on them performing this year. Beyonce is playing Glastonbury, but I don't see her at Roo. Outkast isn't going to reunite, but I'd be happy to be wrong. Wayne Kanye & Jay were ruled out. Drake, ATCQ, Roots, etc. aren't big enough
There are only a small limited number of rap acts capable of headlining Bonnaroo, and when 3 are ruled out, 1 is broken up and Gorillaz is up in the air, no idea how it's anyone else.
And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.
He's like you made an über troll by taking the worst parts of me (the utter disregard for other people's opinions), Phi (cluttering up threads with memes and adding nothing to a discussion) and Jess (an apparent belief that everyone else is the problem and/or arrogance without self awareness).
Jones Jupiter
Stanky McNasty unnecessarily large satchel
not sure why people think eminem's got what it takes to headline bonnaroo. also not sure why people think a rap headliner is a lock because we've had 1 rap headliner in the history of this fest. yeah there were some big names and late nights and other stuff but i'm willing to bet the 2 big rap names on the bill are the roots and black star.
WTF. I didn't post this. In fact, I wasn't even a member of this board when it was posted. I'm so confused... To everyone else: is this showing up at "brokenlight" to you? So. Confused.

and yeah i was just making a dream setlist
Right.... Well - yeah, that summers breeze isn't me. But...how strange that it allowed me to pick the same username AND it's given his posts my avatar. May have to consider a new account...looking back he said a lot of crap I don't want to be associated with. Thanks man.
Super excited, but super nervous that he'll get lazy about it. Up until 2005, his performances had all sorts of energy. I've heard mixed things about what he's done since his comeback though. Fingers crossed for a good show though!

im not really worried about this sucking. Im pretty sure hes 100% focused on his comeback to music, and he will see this as an opportunity to make a huge splash. Headlining one of the biggest music festivals (who is notorious for having bands who can hold long shows with extended improvisation) in the world as a solo Hip-Hop artist who has been, for whatever reason, more controversial than anyone else is a HUGE deal and he will see it as so Im really excited.

What about Drake? I am kind of thinking he could make an appearance since he has songs with Em and Wayne. Eminem will definitely have some guest I'm thinking. Really excited!
what if they play at the same time at what and which.
then they do a double stage song with no love... holy Leno mannnnnnnn
They wouldn't put the two biggest hip-hop names on at the same time. And what is a double stage song? You mean like they synchronize it between the two stages?
