Thank god Lil Wayne fell through, I love his music but he is the last person I'd want to see live. Now lets start praying Eminem doesn't materialize...
BEP were billed 5th at Outside Lands, after DMB Beasties PJ and Incubus. I highly doubt they're big enough to take the #1 billing. And I would lose all respect for Superfly if they actually think that most people would enjoy them as the main act. Not to mention it was a city festival, where I feel tend to have more mainstream pop friendly acts than camping festivals do (I could be wrong, but Ouside Lands, Lolla and ACL tend to have trashier acts pop up than Coachella or Roo).
I'm hoping it's Dr. Dre and Eminem. They'd kill it and are (kind of) ready apparently if they're opening up the Grammy's. Outkast seems more unlikely but I guess is possible if we're thinking of someone that would be the overall headliner, and given that Big Boi is already there you've got 1/2.
I still think there will be a classic rock act, too. They still have to have a top line that attracts the casual music fan that usually sits on the fence. And, in my opinion, as of right now a top line of Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket and Widespread Panic, while it makes this board happy, isn't going to convince too may casual music fans to travel to Tennessee (and I feel people like that don't dive too much into the undercard as they go for headliners). They still need bands that will sell the festival to casual festival goers that have widespread mainstream appeal (Jay-Z, DMB, Stevie, Metallica, PJ, Radiohead, Bruce, Kanye). That's just how I see it, though I could be wrong. I think that Paul McCartney and Eminem would be the best way to top that off.

This. If the Black Eyed Peas play they won't be headliners...

Agreed. If they indeed booked them as a duo then roo has really outdone themselves this year in my opinion, considering all the confirmations we have already received.

This is the first year in quite some time that there haven't been any major "leaks" before now. Is it possible that Insider is part of this conspiracy to keep everyone from finding out the headliners? Has she thrown us a bluff?
Yeah, some people were arguing, but Gorillaz have a strong hip-hop presence and being that their future is questionable I can see them still being in talks this late in the game. Not counting on it, though...
I have to say that if those are the headliners I am a little disapointed....
Fri - MMJ (Kick ass....hopefully its a late night set) AF - Seemed as though it was bound to happen...will def. be a good show
Sat - The black Keys.....I have loved them for years and still do but I DO NOT feel as though they should be in a headlining spot for 80,000 people!!!!!! - Hip TBA - Lets hope its something AMAZING and nothing along the lines of Lil wayne or BEP....(kILL me now!)
Sun - Robert Plant and band of Joy - Unless he plays mainly Zep tunes....this should not be a headliner...period. - Widespead Panic - Goes without saying that this is the audience hat they can do it in front of ....and they kind of deserve it.
Just my opinion but it is not the headliners that I expected....Lets hope the undercard is stacked because they clearly have spent half the money on headliners that they have in the past.

I hope it's Dre and/or Eminem. The Up In Smoke tour Dre and friends did looked absolutely incredible. You should check out the DVD if you've never seen it.
Honestly, I'd be fine with anyone mentioned here except for the Black Eyed Peas. I could see them headlining if they played, considering they're big enough to play halftime at the Super Bowl tomorrow. On the other hand, though, they do seem less likely for a festival like Bonnaroo that has very little pop music.

Im willing to wager that this is not the headliners that Superfly had in mind when the started booking this year but sometimes things dont work out and you take what you can get. Im sure that the festival will be amazing this year even if the headliners are kind of underwhelming. (Of course I will eat my words if BEPs end up headlining, that would just be terrible and would make Bonnaroo the laughing stock of the festival world.)

Am I the only one that feels like this Black Keys thing is kinda odd? I don't doubt that they could play What stage as a pre-headliner. They have exploded in popularity since last year and played Roo a bunch. But they are not top 6 material. They are 29th on the 2010 line-up.
The boards have sorta become distracted with this big name rap act and while Eminem/Dre or Outkast(Please God) would be amazing, there is a puzzle piece missing for sure. I'm still expecting a big name older rock act. Whether it be the Rolling Stones, U2, McCartney, Neil Young, etc. I kinda secretly am holding my breath for RATM but of course it's unlikely.
Clarification: I am extremely satisfied with the leaks so far (besides WSP but even that lets me leave earlier Sunday), but something doesn't add up for the 10th. I think a big name is missing. Insider called the Black Keys a pre-headliner. Have they gotten big enough to play the Dead Weather/Wilco spot? yes. But I think that's as far as they go.

Black Keys will be booked higher than My Morning Jacket. I think Arcade Fire is the Friday night headliner with MMJ taking the late night What/Which stage.
Being a Pre-Headliner isn't that big of a deal... what are you more excited to see, pre-headliner shows or LN tent shows? LN tent artists get billed super low but are arguably the best part about going to roo. I feel like people are all up in arms about these headliners just as much as last year when the headliners (save Stevie) were FAR inferior.
We're not getting BEP's. One they wouldn't be first on the lineup, and traditionally (excluding last year) that's the case. I also wouldn't really consider them hip/hop or rap and Insider said Saturday's headliner will be.

Thanks for doing this laggy. It's a good help.
But still....people are arguing over and analyzing every little thing she has said and creating their own interpretations of it.
To me, it's simple - she said she would give us 6 prime time bands and she's given us 5. No need to argue over whether she meant headliner but said pre-headliner or meant the What stage (even though she didn't state that).
