My buddy spotted Zach Galifinakis on a golf cart as we were headin' to go see Chris Rock I think. My friend started shoutin' his name and runnin' toward the golf cart, but Zack had the driver hurry up to escape my crazy friend's attention.
Stood right next to Zach Galifinakis and Brian Pohsen during Sigur Ros in 2008. They seemed to be enjoying themselves and were pretty unnoticed so I didn't say anything to them.

I spoke to Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black after they were interviewed at the Troo Music Lounge in 09. Conan shook my hand and patted me on the back and said 'Thanks!' to me on his way back up to the stage last year.
A friend met Kyle around the What stage. He was walking around selling Tenacious D cd's. After asking him where Jack Black was Kyle says "He's not a man of the people like I am."

The right side of the tent about half way back. I didn't see anyone approach them so I thought it was cool that they could just hang out and enjoy themselves at that great show.
Last year we ran into J.B. Smooth, he was dressed in really nice/clean clothes so he was easy to spot, ha. During Dave's set last year Greg Giraldo and his girl stood beside us on the VIP hill, pretty amazing! (he died fewmonths later) My biggest memory was year Mike Gordon played with Ramble Dove, ran into him late at night but he refused to get a picture with me
last year i couldve sworn on my life that zach galifianakis bumped into me during bassnectar last year. the dude turned around and stared at me very creepily. it looked exactly like zach except of the look of anger in his eyes!! haha it was weird and scary. other than that i did talk to the bassist from Manchester Orch. during Dr. Dog for a little bit. thats all. theres gotta be celebrities running around everywhere. I figure youd meet many more if you did VIP than GA
I too ran into Zach Galifinakis outside the comedy tent in 2008. He was fairly nice, took a pic with me. I'll post it here when I get home. (if I remember)
there's plenty of other threads like this if you poke around.
I was on Metallica's tour bus for about five seconds, then was told to leave.
I took the staff shuttle to Wal-Mart, and noticed a guy struggling with a bunch of bags. I offered to help him, and he mentioned he was getting food for Metallica. I got past the first security guards behind the main stage, but he quickly stopped me after taking a few steps on their tour bus.

My coworker's sister met Kyle at the What Stage! He actually introduced himself. She didn't know who he was. He made a few witty statements. Been a while since I heard the story.
Also...my coworker met some dude from Top Chef. I don't watch the show, so I didn't know who she was talking about, but I guess he's the main guy. ????? She said he shook her hand and with the other hand put his finger over his lips, like in the "Ssshhhhh" position.

Also last year during the world cup telecast Jeffrey Ross was standing in front of me for a little while. Once I noticed I turned to my friend and said "that's Jeffrey Ross." Then he turned around and said hi. And then my friend said "who's Jeffrey Ross?!" then he got offended and walked away. lol.

Geez this man was everywhere...I saw him too while wandering around trying to find my friends Saturday night in 2008.

2003: Victor Wooten. I didn't know who he was at the time, but after the weekend passed I realized what a great opportunity that was.
2004: Dave from Hackensaw Boys. (a bluegrass band who played in 03 and 04) He asked where to find Doc Watson. - I later got to meet the rest of the Hackensaw Boys where I live now, because they played a show here, and I introduced myself since we are all from Charlottesville, VA. They dedicated a song to me, had me backstage, shared some beers and chicken wings with me, then I smoked with them on their tour-bus. Then they invited me to ride with them to All Good the next day, the year WEEN and Les Claypool were playing. Still kicking myself for not going with them...
2009- I met comedian Christian Finnegan. He was in a few episodes of Chappelle's Show.
Also in 2009 unfortunately not at Bonnaroo, but at All Tomorrow's Parties I met my hero:
Nicest, coolest guy I've ever met. We talked about our mutual love and respect for Hunter S. Thompson, and Bonnaroo. The Flaming Lips 2003 is what got me into both The Flaming Lips, and Bonnaroo.
"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed Fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio." -Hunter S. Thompson

quackin' love The Hackensaw Boys! Only seen 'em once (openin' fer The Black Crowes at the Hammerstein in '05) but they blew my mind. Totally opened me to bluegrass that night. So sad I missed them recently up at the 9:30 Club with Railroad Earth, but I've been BROKE. Awesome story though! CoCo!
