Muse just isn't that popular in the U.S, outside of hordes of teenage girls who obsess over them due to Twilight. They would be a late night act at Roo.
they've headlined coachella. they can headline bonnaroo. i'm not a huge fan, but they are a big band.
You know who else has headlined Coachella? Bjork. She wouldn't be a headliner at Roo either. Different demographic. Now Muse could be easily be a Friday headliner hypothetically or a high profile late night, but they would never be the top act on the bill at Roo.
Just nothing special-very mediocre, especially after all the hype about his great light/glow stick show (he had NO lights, glow sticks, etc.). He was not engaging with the crowd AT ALL (didn't say "Hey bonnaroo" "goodnight" nothing...after being 3 hours late)...sounded okay but just not much energy. I had just walked over from Ghostland Observatory, which was arguably the best show of the weekend and the energy in that tent could have made the Heaves open up.
Not to go off topic but the name of his current production was the "Glow In The Dark" tour. It wasn't meant to be a literal interpretation, it instead had to do with the storyline of the show. He didn't interact with ANY crowds on that entire tour. It was meant as a performance art type piece, it was just lost among most people who saw it.
Sounds wike somebody had his widdle feewings hurt by big bad Kanye.
Haha hell no. I was at Ghostland, but I felt for everybody who waited. It is called empathy.
Yeah, I didn't care either. I had absolutely NO intentions of even watching Kanye, but since he was 3 hours late starting, it worked out perfectly after Ghostland. I just strolled over there and thought, "Wow. All these people missed Ghostland so they could sit in a field for 3 hours with no music and wait for a douchebag to show."

It should be noted that it was an interesting idea that executed in a really, really stupid manner. Like I know five year olds who could have come up with better storylines for that show than Kanye did.
Blind Faith would be incredible. Or Clapton + Winwood. I could have sworn Clapton had a tour date during Roo but it may have just been last year. His last show scheduled is 6/1 in London.
not sure where you looked. but, you're wrong.

it was totally awesome when caught outside of the bonnaroo set that was so bad. totally awesome.

Yeah, they are...and they headlined ACL, and I missed their show, but everyone said it was the best show of the weekend, so I'd be happy with them.

Muse and Arcade Fire both play stadiums (edit: arenas, not stadiums.) For instance, in the NY area, A.Fire played MSG and Muse played Prudential Center. So I think they're fairly equal in terms of popularity.
If somebody slapped you in the face, would you forget? Unless he is sincere and understands the wrong perpetrated, then no Kanye.
And I'm just saying, simply because he said himself he's doing lots of festivals this summer and he has new album coming out.. before you rule him out for a metaphoric "slap."
It only takes one disgruntled jerkstore to throw a fist full of mud at Kanye... if that happens, the show will end and all hell would break loose. And I promise you, if Kanye does show up, there will be way more than one jerkstore in attendance.

go to the record sales. check wiki. i'm not disagreeing, just saying use the facts. but even if they're "fairly equal in terms of popularity" that doesn't mean they won't headline saturday which was the original argument.
It's a 6-11 hour flight to Norway plus a time difference of +6 hours. If the Eagles headlined Saturday until 10, and immediately get on a plane, they wouldn't be in norway until 10-4PM the next day. That's not super plausible. But I probably don't know how time zones work.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

have we gotten anywhere on the saturday headliner and rap act? with arcade fire apparently the friday night headliner or mmj or whatever, i just can't see a younger band as saturday's headliner. i'm thinking its the stones and they'll announce after they wrap up this lawsuit.

Thank You.
By stadiums I meant stadiums not arenas... Like Stade de France and Wembley. Twice each.

Record sales haven't been a fair judge of popularity for years now.

This will lead to an argument about headlining in the South as opposed to the North.

could've fooled me. i think you might wanna do some google research on that one. maybe for small bands that is the case but for bigger (for lack of a better word) artists i think it's a very fair measure. that and ticket sales are.
